Hot weather riding gear / jacket

I wear a Fieldsheer Hi Flow Mesh in the warmer months. The Icon and Joe Rocket stuff doesn't fit me well at all. Most everything is too short sleeved or short waisted. This was the better of the bunch that I tried and has a good balance of armor and airflow.

Back problems stink. I have alot!! Herniated C4, C5, L1, L2, + 2 bulging discs! I spondilo arthritis also. Degenrative disc disease also. My body is falling apart all over but the back is the worst of it. MOST people I know of who have had back surgery are worse after the surgery. Ask alot of people questions before ever getting surgery. I had heard 20-30 HORROR stories and maybe 1-2 good ones. I would have to be at the point where I can't move to let them touch my spine. Good luck and try alot of other options before even saying the word surgery. I have to buy a jacket for the summer weather myself next spring. Right now I have the Icon Timax2 Nylon Jacket, which I just bought.

you guys and your "mesh"... I can't believe something made of snaggable fabric will allow you to slide safely after a get off. If ya ride like AMA, WSB, and MotoGP, ya ought to wear the similar gear: LEATHER
Until THEY switch, I'm sticking with my hot, stinky leather

I usually wear my leather up until the point I drop from heat exhuastion... But I have an Arlen ness mesh jacket with armor CE that is a great placebo... Hope your back surgery goes well and definitly get serious about rehab if you actually have to have the surgery.

nobody has said anything about having to have surgery yet. i already have 2 appointments set up with back and spine specialists, those appointments are on the 26th and 27th of this month. hopefully the condition is treatable without surgery.
