How about this for the comment of the night

For once I'm excited about our next president, I really believe this man will keep his word, not just B.S. everyone then make up more B.S. to cover his azz:thumbsup:

:cheerleader: YES!! McCain is the real deal and i believe that with Palin there will be some change finally

The Dems say change, change, change, but the dems are the same old tired socialist gig

Palin went against her own party in Alaska and prevailed...now thats change, she went after her own party, a regular American, and fixed what was wrong :cheerleader:

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales. (How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.)

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN
15% (no change)

OBAMA
39.6% - (How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.')

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN
(no changes)
Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750

OBAMA (reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)
Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750
Under Obama, your taxes could almost double!

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN
- 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA
Restore the inheritance tax
Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet. New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already) New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity) New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

Like I have said Before IT'S A NO BRAINER !!!!! McCain ALL THE WAY !!!! :cheerleader:

I gotta agree...I look at Obama and I see a BIG quesiton mark AT BEST.

You know what colors McCain bleeds, red, white, and blue.

And Palin is a HUGE plus.

Just the fact that a lot of folks in Washington don't like McCain speaks volumes.

As I was watching, I kinda wished he'd have been elected 8 years ago...

Wonder what the country would look like today if that'd happened?

Things that make me say Hmmmm ???

Nothing for nothing, and I hate to sink you guy's boat, but they all say stuff you like to hear. It's when they get elected is when they dont follow thru with any of it and let the country go to chit! The Clintons are still trying to bring us universal healthcare....

guys, as I have said and posted elsewhere. I am from IL, Obama's home state. We have a Chicago democrat governor who will most likely be indicted by the feds for some underhanded corruption that he has been caught up in. He's in his second term and still refuses to move to Springfield (state capital) but instead commutes from Chicago area at tax payers expense. We have a state house that is controlled by Chicago democrats and we have a state senate that is controlled by Chicago democrats. I have yet to see a Chicago Democrat stick to their word

We have had to endure one of the largest raises in electric prices ever, I have neighbors whose utility bills increased by more than double because legislators refused to act. The largest utility company was claiming it was not making money even though they were making profits in the Billions annually. They have raided every pension fund they could get their hands on, our tax rates are ridiculous, the states economy is so stagnant it isn't funny. We have business and industry leaving the state and the state isn't just near bankrupt, it is all but bankrupt. Oh and did I mention we are one of two states in the country that still don't have any type of concealed carry legislation.

If Obama is such a great leader with such great ideas why didn't he rise to the top while in the state senate and correct some of these problems? Why has he not done anything to help the state as a US Senator?? Could it be because he has done nothing but campaign for president since elected to the US Senate. Sure can't blame republicans for the mess we have here.

Oh and on a final note, a link to a story I was reading last night from Sept 2, well worth the time to read it. Obama claims to have more executive experience than Palin because he has managed a presidential campaign for 18 months. Ranks up there with Al Gore claiming to have invented the internet if you ask me.

Hey CTA_Busa_LE,
Having been born and raised in chicago under the "good old boy" Richard Daley Sr. years, I Never seen an Illinois politician do much more than line their own pockets! well except maybe ol' Jane, she was just too stupid to figure out how to give her Alderman a BJ and get her cut of that plain manilla envelope.
+1 for Republicans
.02 :poke:

 Yhea and maybe stop another 300 billion to the ones that just to tollerate us. Gee that is an easy trillion. :)

All good and well but the next president will be there because big buisness will put them there to make more money. All I have to say so im going outside on this one now.

McCain is interesting man, i liked what he had to say last night.

It comes down to the difference between STYLE and SUBSTANCE.

You have to give credit for Obama STYLE - It's easy to say what everyone wants to hear, but to do it with STYLE; he got his money's worth out of his education (wonder who paid for it; him, his family, or a government program - just wondering).

John McCain is admittedly not a good public speaker, never has been - but he got good last night when he spoke near the end about something he is passionate about. The man's got SUBSTANCE - TRUE GRIT - even to face his own party when he doesn't agree with it. THAT's the man I want as President.

He's got more guts in his pinky finger than Barack Obama has in his entire body, or will ever hope to have. And he puts his 'money' where his mouth is; his own children are in the line of fire in Iraq - and as a fellow servicemember, that matters.

A huge tax increase to fund social welfare programs will just about be the nail in the coffin of our economy. Poor people can't create jobs.

P.S. I've already got his Secret Service codename picked out - you saw it all over the convention floor the other night - MAVERICK

Even though old T. Boone Pickens has a self-serving interest in his advertisements, he's got the right idea. And, I think the politicians are now even paying a little attention. The planned wind-farm in OK is on track and a start. One of the problems is that the idea of off-shore drilling has been left to the affected states to decide (by both sides). And that means that the greenies and far lef folks will stop it with years of lawsuits.

Polosy, the San Fran idiot, and Harry aka brain dead dweeb Reid need to keep us dependant on foreign oil so they can enlarge the government to make us a welfare state.

Anyone checked the favor rating of our do-nothing Congress lately? It's over 70% disapproval. Is there a message to Demoncrats here?

Here's a link showing congressional approval polls.

Congress: Job Ratings

It's amazing how dissatisfied people are with their representatives.

Living in the San Fran idiot's jurisdiction (Pelosi) I wrote to her about gas taxes in CA. I got back a lovely form letter mocking the current administration on every subject except what I wrote about. Nice of her to listen. <insert expletive here>. I'll be working to vote her out when her time is up.
