[Sannosuke]

Back in his hey-day Miyamoto Musashi was to go up against a fellow by the name of Sannosuke. Just before the dual was to begin this Sannosuke fella relinquished any thoughts of success therefor conceding the dual to Musashi, hence being allowed to live another day!... or something along those lines. The guy might've even been called Gonnosuke.

Been many-many years since I read the books.
