How do you tell a 100(+) lb. pup

The only thing you can do is to tell him NO, but you would have had to do this from day one.

All you can do now is relinquish ownership of the couch. We lost our couch to our Golden Retrievers years ago.

Damn, G.....that's one hela big dog.

I'd hate to see the bill for food fer that guy.
He goes through a 40# bag of food like it's a snack! We typically get about two and a half weeks outta them~ Luckily we found a local Tractor Supply/Feed Store that sales them at a pretty decent price~ Makes moding my bike take a little longer though..

WTF? Tractor Supply?!?

Damn, dood...looks like you may as well buy some stock in Iam's Big Dog Chow. Two an a half weeks? Good lord...

I have three mutts...all some kinda mix of daschund/chihuahua/mini collie.

40lb bag lasts me about two and a half months!!!

That's actually one of the reasons I've been holding off on gettin a bigger dog. I was thinkin a huge one too...Dane and Rott mix.
OK, let me clarify...
I buy 40 pounds of dog food, yes, at the tractor supply..

and with the akita eating 1-1.5 cups a day (he's an old man, and won't eat), and the min pin eating 1/2 a cup a day, and Justice eats 8-10 cups a day.. it ALMOST lasts 2 weeks..

and that 40 pound bag is then filled 1/4 full with the "piles" from the back yard.

He's a big boy!  Scooby's right at 150 lbs, so look forward to him getting EVEN bigger!

His legs okay GJ?
His legs seem to be great, VaBusa.. thanks for asking~ He doesn't seem to be 'shuffling' them any more.. not that I've noticed anyhow~ We read up on these monster dogs and never fed him puppy food~ Went straight to a well mixed adult dog food to be sure his bones grew properly with the rest of him~ I think I was just worrying over nothing.. it's a new dad's perogitive, I guess!

Thanks for all your help and advise~ It was appreciated more then you can know~

Yeah, I think he was just lazy there for a while.
We have him on Diamond lamb and rice formula, no corn or grains. He seems to be doing great. He was on Iam's for a while, but it made his back arch.. so we changed over to Natural Balance.. til I found Diamond Brand (same ingrediants, minus carrots, so he gets carrot treats) at half the price, and his back is normal now.

I read a dane forum, get lots of info there.

Thanks for your help VaBusa!

Just protect the vitals when he jumps.

Oh man.. he's right at that size that he's put me to my knees, on more then one occasion, with his tail! He'll just be walkin on by, happy as can be, with that tail waggin and POW!... daddy is on the ground cryin' in pain!

 Those tails can be viscous.

Yup, Justice caught me with just the very tip of that tail, square in the Jewels... It was one of them little thwacks too... Not a proper hit... Gentleman, you know what I'm saying... thwip! Like getting em' stomped by the toddler your holding in your lap...

Ohh.....

I'm wearing a cup next time I head over...

I prolly should invest in a case of those and pass them out to company that stops on by!!

I used to have 3 Great Danes back when I lived in Colombia
wink.gif

We used them mostly as "security" dogs cause of their size.
They were a blast to play with, though. Never had any "accidents" except a few tail whips to the family jewels
