How fast will the Gen3 be?

If it were very close to the 14R's horsepower right now, I'd think it could beat it with some tuning. I won't mind eating my words if the Gen3 busa does end up being the faster and more powerful bike but that looks doubtful. I don't know that most of us wouldn't know the difference anyway. Some people describe the improvement of the 14R over the Gen1 ZX-14 as being "subtle." There's a lot more to it than just horsepower.
As @Mythos knows , Gen 1 ZX14 and Gen 2 ZX14R look the same to most people , but the Gen 2 14R was actually a pretty thorough overhaul , the frame and swingarm received extra brace gusseting , the forks re tuned , the injectors were improved as was the cylinder head . I believe the airbox was modified a little to suit bigger cc etc. Externally , the headlights became 2 piece , and the body side panels received gill slits . Since 2012+ various available factory models came with updates include rear Ohlins TTX shock , and Brembo M50 100mm calipers / 310mm discs . The Gen 2 was said to handle better straight up comparison , it was designed to correct the Gen 1 that got close , but ultimately failed to successfully counter the Gen 2 Busa at that time .

I remember my days of self tuning. There were so many runs well over 100. Sooner or later, someone will see. Passed cops coming at me once. No thank thanks ever again. My nerves have run too thin or else I've wised up a little.

no deer, go for it! Seriously, I'd spend some time out there observing the animal habits if there are animals. Before I did my top speed run, I went to the road several times to observe and record the traffic conditions. My prognostication ended up being pretty accurate. Those damn deer though! It's probably one in a thousand you'll hit one but you can't count on them to cut you any slack.

near me is a 2 mile stretch of road no on or off the whole distance
I have a road like that not too far from me...last fall for some reason I was just idling along and came across a cop sitting running radar...he waved at me as I was actually going below the speed limit...

I was told by a former subordinate turned cop that people were whining about speeding on this road so they were told to patrol it more...

The sad part of it is, there are just farm fields flanking it...no residential housing so it leads me to believe it is the farmers out working in the fields who are complaining...

So much for that road....:(

About 5 miles from my house I have almost a 6 mile stretch of farm road, pretty new asphalt, no pot holes, nice and smooth... There is 1 intersection a couple miles into and towards the end there's houses it so realistically have ~3 mile stretch. Never pressed my luck over 160 on the Gen2, this bike or the Camaro.

164mph in car, on a 2 lane road, is cookin.
I've been 153mph in an LS Trans-Am, and it felt alot faster than it does on a bike.

I was a passenger in a Supra twin turbo at 150mph.....it was scary.....

Almost as scary as 100mph in a sidecar driven by my dad.....with my ear about a foot from the Kerker pipe on his Midnight Special...
