How long do the busa brakes last?

Well my bikes an 07 with 6,500 miles and i thought i heard the fronts brakes sqeaking a little not too sure but if it is cause its kinda somthing i want to take care of right away i'll probably do new pads anyway. But how long do normal stock brake pads last under normal to spirited driving? I've seen a lot of people on here have been using ebc hh pads, what are the benifits of using those pads? Are there any pads that use less brake dust cause i get a lot even after just one ride. Cause im thinking when i do them i'll probably do some stainless lines front and rear probably too while im at it maybe galfer rotors if i can get the cash up for those.

A lot longer than 6500,see that little slot, keep an eye on them. Just the HH pads make a huge difference. I'm sure with the lines and rotors would make you feel like superman. Oh and If you get them hot enough they will squeal like a pig with laryngitis.

My EBC HH pads lasted 8500 miles with moderate to heavy use. They have outstanding grip so I highly recommend them. YMMV

I put EBC HH pads and braided lines on mine shortly after I got it. HUGE difference! Don't know yet how long they last, but the braking is a light 2 fingers to stop NOW, and little to no brake dust.

depends on your riding habits. i would just keep an eye on those grooves and when they are worn to the bottom of that groove , change them. like these guys said, try the hh ebc pads and you will never use stock pads again.

If you want to save $$ leave the rear break line stock. The fronts are the lines that you really feel the difference.

If you have some noise they may just be glazed. Take them out & scuff them up. I rub them on the concrete & lightly sand the rotors. My rears are original w/ 29K on them. Fronts have over 15K w/ plenty of pad left.

I did fronts at 20K still had plenty of meat
rears are still on the bike at 23k still doing just fine..

ok thanks guys i just thought that it was funny that i was getting squeeking so early and i figured cause of how the stock pads dusted i didn't know if they lasted to long but i looked at them up front and they do have pleanty of meat left but i will go ahead and switch to the hh pads the only reason i was talking about doing the rear stainless line was just so it would match the front lines not really looking for a performance gain out back  thanks for the info guys gotta love the org:beerchug:

wow that alone is enough of a reason to switch out cause the dust is a huge pain

I am looking at a 2002 Hayabus with 13,000 miles. All the paperwork including the pink look legit. The rear brake pads need to be replace. Is this normal?

dont see why not....if they are oem thats a hell of a life....if you use your rear brake.

Brake pads can wear out fast or they can wear out slowly, it all depends on the pads and ones driving habits.
Keep an eye on the wear idicators. Personally, when I'm approaching a stop, I use downshifting to slow the bike
and very seldom use the brakes except when completing my stop at a light or stopsign, or executing a panic stop.
Yes, EBC HH pads make your bike stop faster, but my experience has been that they also FUBAR your rotors.
I just removed a set of EBC HH pads from my bike and the front rotors are close to being damaged and the rear rotor
is scored/grooved to where it needs to be replaced. I read somewhere on a reliable web mechanic site, it said to
replace your brake pads with the same OEM type that came with it. I went with kevlar/carbon pads this time and they
are working well, except with the FUBARed rotor in the rear. I have a rotor on order and will replace it this week.
I have also tried the sintered pads on my Harleys and they did the exact same thing, stopped good, but were
damaging to the rotors. So there ya have my 2 cents worth. That's been my experience, take it for what it's worth.
Cheers

I have 60,000 miles mostly on HH pads. I never used up the OEM pads. I also have Galfer braided SS lines. The rotors are fine but I did expect more wear to them vs stock pads...but, I want to stop faster, stop better, and the HH pads deliver. I'll mic the rotors as I do every pad change and when they're at their limit they'll be replaced. Simple maintenance.
