I live in florida and here we dont have anything that would be considered "Cold Weather" ever. However i was wondering how often should i warm up my busa with the choke before i ride her off.I ride her at least once a day btw.

I run mine for like 10 seconds with the choke and then let it warm up to normal operating temp before riding.

normal operating temp

How much is it and how do you know the bike has reached it?

no there are no dumb questions always ask if you are not sure mine is an 05 and it runs about two needle widths away from the half way point on the temp quage the choke is actually an enrichment lever since the bike is fuel injected but could foul plugs if let sit long enough on idle

Bike will also overheat if left Idling to long without moving air thru the radiator.

Thank god i bought the 5 year suzuki extended warranty. If something happens to the engine ill throw it in their faces so they can fix it.For free i hope.

I usually let mine run about 30 seconds with the fast idle on, then about 1 1/2 - 2 minutes before taking off. I usually take it easy till it gets up to operating temp, then I can hammer down...

Don't worry about that, they are bullet proof.
Change the oil, keep her clean, check your nuts and bolts regularly, and especially keep that the chain clean.
Then she will treat you as well as you treat her, unlike some other females Iknow.

I fire mine up in the shop, flick to high idle....go open the door....back her out and park it again..to close the shop door.....put on my gloves...and ride off. I am very gentle on the throttle at first. By the time I go about one mile...she is up to operating temp.

Then I twist the shid out of it!!!

same (I ride to/from work everyday)
fire up on high idle for a min or 2 -- drop to reg idle -- put on helmet jacket and gloves and take it easy till the needle comes up

Me too, fire it up as I back it out of the garage, over on the stand, put me gear on and off we go easy till she warms up, oh we are talking about motorcycles:p

when the temp guage reaches the normal place.. where it is when you are driving.. i think this is about 1/3 .. below 1/2 way point...takes me about 3 minutes..

Suzuki manual says 30 seconds on fast idle, than to normal op temp. (About 2 to 4 minutes) In florida My temp likes to sit where the top side of the needle just barley floats under the half way mark. When your close to that fill your boots.

anything is possible but they are built pretty damn good if you look at the statistics. I dont think anybody here actually babies their bikes when it comes to the trottle.
