How much coolant will drain out?

Have a '08. Drained coolant overnight so I could replace exhaust with Akrapovic 4 -1. Only got out 2.5 quarts and that included the amount that I poured from the recovery tank. 1.) How much should have come out? 2.) Only was able to put in 3 qts including recovery tank and I spilled a little of that. Thanks.

3.1 qts on a GEN I...not sure if GEn II is different?

edit: appx 2.9 qt. engine................. appx .3 qt. reservoir for GEN I

You don't really need to open the cooling system to put on an exhaust. Just zip tie the rad. forward.

No need to take the radiator off, just remove the bolts and swing it forward...

I pulled the radiator so I could torque the allen head fasteners.

No need, you've got plenty of room if you just swing it forward...
