I spend the bare minimum on my bikes, I keep the maintenance up, keep new tires on it but other than that, I ride it when I can.

I can come on this forum and live vicariously through some of the other awesome builds. I paid $5k cash for my bike and that makes me happy.

Perhaps if I lived somewhere where the riding season was longer, I might get motivated to put some goochie goodies on it (Ohlin's, etc) but we have about a 4-5 month riding season here.
 
I'm getting close to $22K. I was looking at it the other day and it only comes out to about $190/month for the 10+ years I have had it. I have many friends who spend that much on beer, alcohol and cigarettes. So not so bad for good clean entertainment. Not exactly an expensive hobby - not like a boat, sports cars or campers. The K1600 ended my thrifty hobby claims, that bike was awful in so many ways. The 1250 is proving to be a really good bike and not too expensive to run. God help me when it breaks though.
