(Rhythm @ Nov. 28 2006,12:38) To avoid somone cutting you helmet strap or walking off with you tank bag or jacket I would recommend going to  Lowes or Home Depot, purchase a wire braided line cut to lenght,  a wire loop kit to make the ends of the wire loop together and a cut to length clear tubing to protect your bike from scratches. Once you assembled all three items you shoud end up with somthing like this to secure your helmet and hot azz jacket to your bike with little worries.

You can run the wire through you jacket arm continueing through the helmet visor open if you have enough length.
Good idea...running the cable through the sleeve of the jacket.

However, for every action there is an opposite and...."to beat a thief, you need to think like a thief"..

Maybe you can run some electricity through that thing.

I would be more concerned about the theft of my bike if someone was carrying that around.    My suggestion was intended for the sticky fingers that like easy pickings when you step into a gas station or restaurant etc.

Wrong my brother ! That will only lead to a cat and mouse game.

The only way you're going to beat a thief, is by not playing his game.
You have to stop the MOFO's in their tracks (Smith and Wesson).

i just hang it on the mirror ? cant beat a thief . if you lock it up on the hanger they cut it , if your lucky they dont scratch the shid out of your tail section with the knife , if they dont have a knife they can either rip the seat or hump off which pops rather easy , [ i know a dip shid who put his tail section back on and didnt connect the cable } or if thier realy stupid and want it bad and dont have a knife i imagine if you pull on the helmet hard enough somthin will give that piece of metal will probably straighten right out !

rhythm has a good idea there but if they want it like anything else they will take it

its kinda like leaving a purse on the front seat locking the doors and rolling up the windows ! }my wife is guilty of this , and also leaving loose change or a couple singles on the center console !
even if it is empty , you are still better off leavin the windows down and doors unlocked the purse will be gone no matter what ? its just about how much damage they will cause to get it
\
ps , leaving the doors unlocked alone does not prevent the damage , i had a guy try to steal a stereo from my car the stupid fu#@ broke my window which woke me up , after smackin him silly , i showed the dipshid that the car was unlocked ! told him he got beat for bein STUPID!

Security is like the old joke about not having to out run the bear, only having to out run your friend. You just need to make sure someone else is an easier target.

Maybe it's a good idea to have 2 helmets... one nice one and one crappy (to bring with you to the mall or something). Or just have one crappy one, like me, with a giant scratch on the side. Any thief who'd go after my helmet would have to be really hard up for a helmet!

(Over_Easy @ Nov. 28 2006,08:26) There is a nitch in the hump for the strap.

Keep in mind though if someone wants your helmet all they have to do is cut your chin strap and it's theirs.
Am I missing something? Once you cut the chin strap, how are you going to fix the helmet--sew another piece on where you cut it?

Don't know anything about helmets and construction. criminals do stupid shid just to do it. can i get a crack rock for this helmet. vandalism happens all the time. kids, gang members, etc.

in short their not doing this because they need a helmet
