Man, what a mess. I lived in Ft. Myers for over 20 years and can relate. Good luck Florida folks...!

It is going to get MUCH worse.

We are breaking out the kites... lol.gif

Were I live they are inticipating 70mph wind for up to 12 hours and 100(+)mph winds for 3 hours.
Some gusts of up to 150mph are expected. a.gif

Hope I still have a roof come this time tomorrow.

Keep us in your prayers.

You Tampa folks sticking around? I know they've recommended many leave, but is it mandatory yet?

I remember going through Homestead, FL two years after Hurricane Andrew went through, and it was devastating...please stay safe guys/gals...

REV AIN'T HANGING AROUND... I grabbed the wench the guns, the paperwork and uh... Well my laptop as well as the small Expensive items, Loaded the Infiniti, Gave the house and my Bro "Best wishes" and I am now sitting at the Inlaws in TitusVille. View attachment 497509 Yeah, Rev ain't screwing around.

Yeppers, I hauled ass, my house isn't in too much risk though it is in a C evacuation zone, so I figured why wait until the HUGE traffic jam, and I left last night.

Lilah is in the garage, the door is locked down and is thouroughly Hurricane resistant. The Windows all have 3-M Ultra Security film on them and my flood insurance is up to date, the home itself is well insured as are the contents plus some riders for unmentionables... Hell, part of me almost hopes the place gets polished right down to the foundation, I'll make out like a bandit... View attachment 497510

OK Ok Not really... My bro is still there... He said "This will be cool!" Then looked at me like I was an alien cause I was bugging out... Ah.. to be young again...

Mostly my ass doesn't need to be without A/C this time a year in Tampa, and I am not missing the F1 this weekend... View attachment 497511

Good luck to anyone riding it out, Hopefully ole' Charlie will get a taste of the Tampa MOJO and take a sharp turn east or west.

Yeah I am stressed about Lilah though... But that would clear the way for a 2005...

Anyone know Let-er-eats Phone #? I think I might need to go get a beer tonight...

Good Luck Brenda and Greg, and all the other Tampa/NPR/St. Pete and surrounding area Folks... I'll be watching.

I live about 25 miles strait east of Cecil, were hangin' out. My wife is the only one in her family that lives in a real house, so her niece and kids are coming over. They just moved down from Philadelphia and are freaked out.
I'm thinking about 1 last pre-hurricane ride today. I'll take the camera.

Be safe ya'll!!!

Rev - we should get some wind on this side tonight too:
Today...Becoming very windy. Rain and scattered thunderstorms. Rain will be heavy at times. Highs in the mid 80s. Southeast winds 20 mph increasing to 30 to 40 mph with gusts to around 50 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.

Tonight...Very windy. Rain with scattered thunderstorms. Lows in the mid 70s. Southeast winds 35 to 45 mph becoming south 50 to 60 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 100 percent.

Yeah, no doubt Charlie's effects will be felt over here as well... I think I am in a pretty good spot though, not too close to the ocean and plenty of elevation...

Though I have noticed a serious lack of... well anything here in TitusVille... The SuperWal-Mart seems to be about the most happening spot...
