I joined the blue light club...

Glad it worked out for you. I talked to a state trooper this past weekend as well. He is my friends neighbor and asked how fast i've had my bike up too. I told him and he said that the fastest he's had his cruiser up to was 130 and they arent even allowed to chase bikes in MD. Good info to know.

This is my first moving violation on a bike, and my first ticket since '04. In addition, this was my first trip with my new PC III custom map. Of course I couldn't explain that to the State Trooper! Anyway other than the ticket, the trip was a success. I'll be fine. :martin:

I think his name was Moss. Only got a couple of pics... I'll do better next time.

Just wondering if it was my cuz Chris. He lives down that way. Most of the troopers around that I have spoke to seem cool, I guess if you arent doing something crazy. He probably also seen you werent some kid in a t shirt and tennis shoes.

The Blue Light Special, You gotta love it.

I like it when they are polite and professional, even if they give me a ticket, I have much respect for them.

He was the first GA Trooper I'd met in that fashion, and left a good first impression.

Everybody has a job to do and you have to at least respect that. I've only had a bad experience with the police once, when I was a kid. He ended up getting fired over something else anyway. For the most part they've all been very professional.

A complete waste of tax-payer money.

The cops around here shy away from dealing with the harder edged criminals and pick on the suburbanites because they are easy targets.

I don't think that's the case around here. The officers in our area get into some nasty stuff.

These are the kind of officers we need. One's that can tell the difference between a punk and a rider. Great job.

There are many of us who ride and like to "speed up the backdrop" from time-to-time. There are also those of who know that chasing a biker that fails to yield, will only end in embarrasment or bloodshed. It's not worth it to run nor is it worth it for me to chase.

Most of my close comrades either ride, want to ride, or share my sentiments.

That sounds like profiling to me. :poke:

I thought profiling was wrong.

You thought wrong. RACIAL profiling is "wrong" and more specifically unconstitutional.

Targeting RV drivers, semi drivers, delivery drivers, or motorcycle drivers, is completely constitutional and legal.

Glad to hear that you only got a warning! I have been pulled over several times while on my 'Busa and 9 out of 10 times I get just a warning. A lot of it has to due with the fact that I ride a 'Busa and that I made the choice to stop.

Dont think it's profiling if it's true...All the crashes I've ever seen around here are sport bikes. Just had one here saturday that shut down all the inside lanes on 695. :(

Yeah, I took off the helmet and gloves once he got to me and we started talking. I just didn't want to be moving around too much before he got to me. He said that they are required to stop any motorcycle they see in violation and at least have a talk with them.

If you have a bit of gray hair (or, like me - disappearing hair) I really recommend removing the helmet to let the LEO know you're not a kid. Reverse age discrimination...

Sheeeit, I haven't seen a suburbanite in my city in a long time. We don't have barking dog calls, we have shots fired calls. I don't have time to hassle suburbanites (unless they're buying dope or "dates").

Is there any officers on the Org if we have any ?

One here. I'm sure there are more. The average cop loves Hayabusas! Those that don't are just too stupid to tell the difference between them and other bikes.

I've got a cop buddy in Kansas City, who (reportedly) has a 1440 Busa with Nitrous. He's buckwild- the majority of cops, became cops partially because we like excitement. Part of that excitement involves speed. When most of us see guys "gettin it" we "understand" and wish we could be riding. Still we have a job to do, and we've got to try to stop you and have a professional conversation- remember we've got citizens, politicians, and real criminals watching. If someone stops, I tend to think they're not the guys that I should write. Officer discretion kicks in- attitude dictates everything.
