So, I set out to get a Busa last Saturday. Went to a dealership just outside of Akron, OH. I'm in Cleveland, so it's a little drive, not too far. I found an '05 with 3,400 miles on it for $6,200. It has some cosmetic damage, but nothing that I wasn't going to change anyway.
Get there when they open at 10 am. Go in, tell the sales guy I was going to buy it... I had a check from my bank in hand. "Great" he says. We sit down and do the paperwork.
Right away, a service guy pushes it outside and near the service bay to get checked over, new oil, battery, check coolant, fill the gas tank, etc. Sales rep says, "it's going to be a few hours, as there are a few bikes infront of yours to be serviced" No problem. My buddy and I go to Best Buy, walk around Walmart, get some lunch. At about 1pm, the sales guy calls me and says, "there isn't a key for the gas tank, so the locksmith will be here to make keys in about an hour". Are you kidding me? This dealership took a trade in on this bike before knowing there wasn't a key for the tank? C'mon, really?
2pm, in comes the lock-smith. 10 minutes later, the tank is open. 30 minutes later, the keys are made. Lock-smith leaves. At 3:30 pm, a tech goes over to the bike and looks in the tank. He scurries back inside the service bay and brings out the service manager. They look inside the tank together with a flashlight. They wave my buddy and I over and show us the tank has rust all inside. "you can't take the bike today." I understand not taking the bike with rust in the tank, BUT, they should have let me know that a long time ago... like, when the lock-smith left. They said they would start on it Monday, and it should be done Tuesday.
I called this morning at 11am to check the status. I talked to the service manager, and he said they were finishing it up this morning, but didn't say if it would be ready for pick-up this afternoon. He asked who the sales rep I was working with, and said he would have the sales rep call me. On my way to lunch today at 12:30, no call yet, so I called the cell phone of the sales rep. He doesn't pick up, so I leave a message.
It's now 2pm, and no call.
What should I do?
