I think I bought a Hayabusa

Here's what happened. The tank was probobly damaged by the previous owner and he swapped it for the tank that's on there now. The didn't even bother to swap the fuelcaps.

Make sure they've replaced the tank with another clean unit. If it's rusty inside, all they can do is do the rust coating and that works only if the person performing the task know's what he's doing. Plus, it takes 2-3days to complete the process. More than likely they just scraped and rinsed out what excess rust they could find. Once your out the door with that bike your stuck. Don't let them do that to you.

Best of luck. Better get the injectors cleaned and balanced, change plugs and cross your fingers, legs, toes and anything else available.

Oh, and let me know if you need a new fuel pump also and you probably will, I have 2 for sale just for this situation!

You're an idiot if you buy that bike.

Welcome to the Org.

Thinking of what the inside of the tank looks like makes me wonder what the inside of the motor looks like. Be cautious and inspect that thing with a fine tooth comb.
Usually rust inside the tank is indicative that the previous owner didn't keep the tank topped off and that is about it but it can spread and wreck havoc to your fuel system and beyond.if you don't mind traveling some you can get a bike that was much better cared for

You have already shown these sellers the money bro,....THEY WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO MAKE THE DEAL FLY !!!! I will pray for you, Let us bow our heads:please::please:

State 8 ???

I'm guessing you've already picked up the bike by now as it's almost 7, but your experience sounds like your dealing with State 8. I wouldn't touch these guys with someone elses ten foot pole, let alone my own. If th deal falls through, I believe Liberty Harley had a Busa Trade-In they are trying to move.

Good luck.

Dude from what you've said the bike has been wrecked. The tank that is on it now, is not the tank it came with. The tank that is on it now, was sitting at a dump site for a loooong time to get rust in it. That's also why the ignition key didn't fit the tank.

You have a lot more to be concerned about than that tank. The frame could be cracked or broken.

PM me the VIN and see what I can see about what happened to the bike. A good indication about the bike would be to give the VIN to the insurance agent (even if you don't really intend to get insurance for it), if they came back and say no insurance, it's because the bike has been in a wreck, and these days insurance companies just total a bike because they can't confirm there hasn't been damage to the frame.

My final thoughts. Run, don't walk away from this deal. If you absolutely have to have it, send me the VIN via PM. Can't promise I can get any information about it, but there is a good chance I can.

Hope you didn't pick that bike up. At least they could make the deal a little better for you - throw in a warranty, some free gear, free check in 1,000 miles, reduce the price a couple hundred bucks.
