ahh.. it appears i am mistaken. called a local shop owner here with a dyno who claims his stock k8 makes 180, and 200 with full exhaust, filter and tuning..
maybe his dyno is loose:laugh:

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

ok i see that but im still not sure,, look at the post above , 1397cc its just at 200hp

i guess its really where you see the hp , at the motor or at the wheel

i am not saying it cant be done just that i have been followeing a few buids , couse i am looking to someday do a 1441 ,, any how the hp i see on cc builds are not to far over 200, so i just dont see how you get 200 hp out of a gen1 with just head work,,

best of luck to him if he can do it good for him !

that is not a realistick hp # on a gen2 with just exhuast and filter ,,

my bike 2009 full exhaust, filter , cheese tune and i was pushing 187 mhp,, with the extended arm i am fig i am still pushing about 178+-,,

a few members i know have ceramic wheel brgs, sealed duck tubes , exhaust ex and they are in the 190,,

so when people say you can get a gen1 to 200hp on just head work, port polish i just dont see it ,,

if he wants 200 he will need n2o or a turbo, or big bore kit +

heads will not do it alone

You are forgetting part of the equation. Is it possible to get 200hp from a Gen one with just head work, tune, exhaust and cams? Is it possible to get 200hp on a Gen 2 with an exhaust, tune and filter. Yes it is if you run race fuel. That can be the difference in the equation. All of the bikes that I build are dynoed with 93 octane to get a real base line. Race fuel is added later for spraying and N/A horsepower. Some race fuels can give 10 to 20 hp.

You also need to be aware of your numbers being different depending on where you located. If you are say in Wyoming at Wyotech then your numbers are going to be lower than at sea level. Gluck :beerchug:
