Major ice storm descended on Ks yesterday knocking out power and destroying Lots of property.....

That sucks KS....we're cold up here too.....-12 last night supposed to see -15 and some snow tonight....woohoo...time to pull out the quads.
 
And more... This are from around town. The Bug was lucky and didn't suffer any major damage to the homestead..

I heard it was a bad storm. Shut down lots of stuff, but is supposd to clear by this weekend and be pretty warm again.
 
What a mess. At least it's beautiful to look at... before the tree you're looking at falls on your house. That's the one weather condition that even hardcore winter riders won't venture out in. (except for those modified dirt track bikes that race with spikes on the ice)

I saw pics on the news...power outtages and everything. I'm not going to complain about riding home in 40 deg temps at 4am.

Thanks guys... I think Loboboy is still digging out from the storm as well. This really put a damper on riding.
 
Finally got power back last night still need to clear out the tree limbs though. No major damage just real cold in the house with no power. I hard wired in a generator for temporary use and it really helped out. I'll be up to full capacity by tomorrow and the quad is coming out today by God and I am going to terrorize the neighborhood.

Ah This brings back memories of being in Omaha... Dealt with a few of these Ice Storms there... Makes driving a real adventure... Have fun on the quads folks...

make me think when i was in Montreal and we had a ice storm in 1997. We were out of power for 21 days.
My parent left the house at the time and went to friends place a couple humdreds miles away where there was power.
I stayed home to keep an eye on the house cus everybody left town and thieves were roamins around.
Bought myself a chainsaw cuz there was a shortage of burning wood.

I'm not ready for one of those storms...every ice storm we've had has left us without power for days...been a long time, so we're probably due...
