If you could live anywhere...

without a doubt, Hawaii

i've been thinking long and hard about this too (as i've got no attachments either) and i'm of the impression that Hawaii is the place to be.  the weather is steadily in the upper 70's to mid-80's YEAR ROUND and the vistas seem to be spectacular.  you can even ski on mauna kea from november to april if you miss the snow!

i live in northern maine, and at this time of year, we still have a foot of snow on the ground, then up next we'll have three weeks of mud season and the bikes don't come out 'til mid-may.  my '03 busa that i bought in january is sitting next to me in my dining room for at least another month just waiting to breathe...ugh!

Albuquerque, NM.... I may complain about this place, but where else can you really ride 360 days a year, little rain, no snow, mountains within minutes to ride the twisties, flats to role on the gas and max the Busa out, lots and lots of other riders out on the rodes, and its close to Colorado, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada.

Vegas....

Definitely like this idea!

Hawaii, though it limits the "new places to ride" quotient. I think the other amenities could even it out though.

Otherwise, in no particular order: Montreal, Chicago, San Francisco, Vegas, Tokyo, Barcelona, San Diego.

I've spent a bit of time in Phoenix, Tuscon and Nogales. My wife and I almost moved to Nogales last year. I wish things would have worked out...sigh...definitely take Arizona into consideration, bro.

I like Arizona......and I really love San Diego.............but I'm absolutely crazy about home.............Colorado. Kind of get it all here. Hot...........but no humidity..........cold..........but no humidity.........and everything in between. I would get to ride my busa about a week out of every winter month, and then head to the hills and snowboard every weekend. I highly recommend it!!!

Hey Steven, let me know if you need a room-mate in Hawaii!

You guys all have great suggestions. North Carolina and Georgia I hadn't thought of. I'll keep them in mind.

As far as Arizona, what is the cost of living in those areas? I hate cold weather and don't mind 100° days at all.

I'm with VaBusa on this one...Florida Keys

Reasons:
1. Beautiful weather year round. There's always a breeze, and the high temp never gets above 95 degrees, even though the rest of Florida will be well above 100 degrees. I spent a week there last June and it was georgeous.

2. I love scuba diving, and I could dive almost every day. Better yet, I'm currently working on becoming a Dive Master and Scuba Instructor, so I could potentially work in the dive industry.

3. There's a bridge that's 7 miles long. Good for high speed runs.

My second choice would have to be Charleston, S.C.

Reasons:
1. I lived there for 12 years before moving to Wisconsin's Winter Fuggin Wonderland.

2. The people are friendly...Southern Hospitality.

3. There are beautiful places to ride locally, and you're close enough to the Apalacian Mountains to make a weekend trip out it. The Dragon (Deal's Gap) is still on my list of things to do before I die.

4. I was born and raised in the South, and I WILL be living there again.

Good Luck on your decision.

As long as I didn't have to work I would live between Austin and Houston. Probably around Brenham or outside LaGrange. That would put me close to family and plenty to do. Nice ridin NW of Austin in the hill country, plenty of open roads with little traffic. But I'm biased when it comes to Texas, It's the only other country, er state, I've lived in that I like.

Cost of living is quite reasonable. Milk is 1.89 a gallon, gas is 2.10 a gallon. 3 bd house is 150kish, and it is a buyers market out here. School teachers start at around 32K a year.
