If your bike cuts out...

I guess everyone knows that there is a fuel screen plugging problem with the Busa. Despite Suzuki's denial, it is not restricted to bikes below serial#2500. Mine is above 3600, and has the problem. For those who don't already know what can happen, this is an alert.
One of the first symptoms is a rough idle; this can be followed by dying in traffic. The one that gets your attention is the sudden shut-off; that one could kill you.
If you suddenly lose power and you suspect this problem, don't suddenly open the throttle, particularly in a lower gear. When the power comes back it does so just as suddenly as it went away, and if you are leaned over in a lower gear and have opened the throttle, it can get very ugly. CLOSE the throttle. Fortunately, I didn't open my throttle, but I didn't totally shut it. Scary. It did the same thing to a mechanic on a test ride later. He came back very shaken.

A regular dose of fuel injector cleaner (Gumout or similar) in the tank may help to prevent or at least delay this problem.
