I'm definitely gonna need tires soon

So I have my bike in the living room, and since im out of work, i had nothing to do, so i decided to clean the bike up really thoroughly. After looking at the tires, I most DEFINITELY need some new tires for this coming riding season.

Now, here's my dilemma: I dont have a lot of money (obviously - im out of work) but wont skimp on the only thing in contact with the road when im riding. I dont do a lot of twisties, because, well, we just dont have many in northern Indiana. I don't ride in the rain either. Just looking for an all-around decent tire that I dont have to spend an arm and a leg for. I dont need pilot CT2s or Pirelli Angels or anything like that. I have looked at the Avon Storms and wonder how those stack up price wise, of if there would be anything else that someone (like sponsors here) would have that would suit my needs. I can't buy them now, even though I wish i could. If someone could give me some input, it sure would be nice to have for when i DO have some money, finally.

Thanks in advance, all.

Okay, now, is there a sponsor in the house who carries these who could, say, shoot me a price?

The Shinko's are going to be the best price. Avon Storms will probably be your best bang for the buck though mileage wise.

Any sponsors that can PM Andrew a reasonable price?

Qualifiers are great tires. The new Q2's are the best tires available IMO.

BUT he's looking for something reasonable  Unfortunately Qualifiers are not going to fall into that category.

One of the principals of the Iron Butt Association (and a fellow board member) runs Avons on his LDRs (Long Distance Rides) and gets very high miles out of them. I've never used them, but he swears by them.

Good luck!

not sure this would help, but i have a michelin pilot power rear with a hole in it for free if ya like. the tire only has 200 miles on it or so and the hole is smaller than a dime toward the left centerline. i couldn't find anyone to patch and mount it, so it is sitting in the garage for now. pm me if ya want it!

Schism: If you cant find anyone to patch that, I cant say id feel safe riding on it. The offer is definitely appreciated though.

mymaster: Thanks, but thats something I could have done. I just prefer to buy my stuff from vendors who choose to sponsor this board. They give cap money for advertising here, and I like to keep my money "in the family" if at all possible.

Hey bro, the Avon Storms are good tires and will give you good mileage. I run them myself and my next set will the be same. You can get a set (I believe with shipping) for about 300.00, front and rear. Shoot Busawhipped a pm, I used his supplier last time.

i've got a Pirelli Diablo Strada front tire you can have if you want it...i would guess it still has at least 5000 miles left on it according to the mileage i have been getting out of them...i will get it sent to you before it warms up, just pm me your address bro :beerchug:

Dang! How cool is that!?

Nice going Semi.

I have used the Avon Storms and love them. Is there a difference between the Avon Storms and the Storm 2's? Can someone pm me is there is a difference?

So no sponsor replies: Where did you guys get your tires, and were you happy with your purchasing experience? What did you buy and how much did you spend (if you dont mind telling me) and did you think it was a good price, or did you buy because they had what you needed?
