Im gonna go to jail

Welcome to the board.

When my buddy crashed my quad, I wne tot he dealer, added up the $ for new and gave him the bill.

Luckly he is a great guy and he wrote me a check. His wife wasn't to happy bout it but that's life.

Go to the dealer, get a printed copy of what the new parts will cost, give it to your bud, and you get to see if he is a friend or a bobo-head.

Sorry to hear about your bike. Like everyone said your buddy should pay. He should have stepped up to the plate before it even hit the ground.

As for the exhaust question. I have Yosh RS3 Race cans and love the sound.

Yeah i'm in agreeance ya friend should pay up even if he can't afford the new parts which can be understandable he should pay for good used ones off ebay as for the fairing i think that will have to come new i don't let no one get on my stuff unless i know it's on it's center stand less chance of it fallin over and i'm always close enough to it that should something happen i can either dive under it or catch it myself luckly i haven't had to do that yet
But there are only a couple people i have even sit on the bike and only 2 that have ridden it and the ones that road it i knew could afford to fix it or replace it and i made them sign a wavier on that too

if you're still going to keep your stock exhaust.... don't get new. There are many people on the board with stock cans lying arond.

Damn that sux! As everyone else said, make him pay so that he gets some understanding of responsibility. Simply for his stupidity I say you should make him pay for up-grades

ouch
that sucks
lesson learned i hope, by you
DONT LET NO MOTHE#FUC*ER TOUCH YOUR SH*T

any way that parts, if your friend dont buy you new ones, are very paintable.
the pipe?
get the brock or go ahead and buy some thing used from the board
for 350 you can buy somthing good

good luck
and take a deapbreath and relax
it could of been worse
he could of dropped it while riding

The main thing though is that HIS PIPE COMES WITH FREE MAPS!

If you buy a PCIIIR from him when you get the exhaust he will load it for you on the PCIIIR so you can just install it and ride.  NO dyno tuning needed, just plug and play!

Dude...shiddy about yer tip over. Why has yer buddy not stepped forward with his open wallet in one hand , and a case of cold ones in the other .

If it were me , I would be pretending his lungs were on fire.I'd be removing his tiny brain head from his shoulders an' pissin' down his throat .

Josh....here's where you an' I are gonna have a little disagreement . I think its great that you get a free map , with those systems . I dont feel that any map is PLUG n PLAY. I think if a person goes to the trouble of modding their bike....they shouldn't cheap out with some map thats bin emailed to them , or installed at a shop , without the bike .
I think that such a map is a GREAT STARTING POINT , but is/could be miles from the map the bike actually needs .
I think you can have 2 Busa's sittin' side/side each with the same EVERYTHING mods/miliage wise...an' yet each will require a different map . Here's another example , I live at sea-level , you might live in Colorado....the maps will need to be totally different....you follow ?

anyway...just wanted to clear up that one little thing.

hav agood 1.....RSD.

That's what I meant.....it is only a good starting point.

I would still take your bike to the dyno to check the Air/Fuel and make sure things are safe.

What you really need to do is have a CUSTOM map made for YOUR bike but not a lot of people can or want to spend the money to do that so.......

Brock will get you close for what most people have planned!

Dude, You dropped it yourself didn't you, I know I know you dont want to admit but come on... we know...

OK Seriously though, Your buddie should be coming up with some green to make it right. My bro here in Tampa just ran his hand across the tail section and just about got dropped... yeah, don't touch my FUGGIN bike is a rule I live by and God Help the next twit that decides to touch and poke at Lilah at Hooters...

Just a thought, but was the bike in your garage? Might it be covered by your homeowners insurance?

Lastly, if you want a quick and easy fix for your dinged pipe, just get yourself some used slip-ons. Simple and inexpensive.

That blows.. gotta say though, if the guy didn't offer to make it right, right then and there, it's time to find new friends... geez..

Update: He's stepp'in up and handing cash for the new parts. I already ordered new parts. I forgot to ask here for stock cans and the fairing. Itll be in by Weds. The shop will put them on for free.

Thanks all you guys for the kind words and the advise.

I told me buddy that if he didnt come up with the bennies I would tell all you guys and we'd all take turns kicking his head into the pavement...

Just kidding...

Mike

Good deal Mike.. I am glad to hear he is stepping up to the plate. That is the right thing to do....

That is cool the shop is putting them on for free...

well the best exhaust i think is the Brock Davidson Streetsmart Hindle Exhaust. My boy ran a 9.13 with that pipe and air shifter. Everything else stock.

Just a thought...guys dump their stock cans fairly quickly for something "more"...my husband bought a set of stock Busa cans for $49 on EBay for my Busa (we're going to mod them and see how loud we can make them)...

In case you don't want to spend the money on after market exhaust right now, check out EBay for a suitable replacement...pretty cheap...

Mike, you will do worse to it before it gets better. However, it is a sad day when that happens.

The race busa I was allowed to sit on before I made MY decision, belongs to a friend that is 6'5" and isnt to be taken lightly. had I dropped it, I would have been next to be dropped.

bottom line, he should make it right, and you should forgive him AFTER the fix.

Thanks guys for all the help. I got a new fairing and can from the dealer and its all installed and looks new again... ahhhh.... i was really down for a couple of days there...

what cans do you guys say are the best? and what about a air mod ?
