What attracted me to this site was the level of maturity and commitment to it's members by the members and admins alike. Sure, there are moments of silliness, but overall the level of discussion is quite high. I've learned much more than I had ever expected in the short time that I have been a member of this board. BTW, not all of it related to Suzuki Hayabusa's.
My 15 year old daughter doesn't visit this forum, but I would have no worries about what she would read or see here. The mod's do a great job of keeping this place free of offensive material. We are adults. We can find ways of communicating without extensive use of vulgarity or pornography.
As far as "donations" are concerned. I have never felt pressure to "Donate". Whether directly to the ORG, or by participating in raffles or other activities. I choose to donate in various ways because this site is very special. There are very few Internet sites that maintain such a relatively high level of discourse. I also appreciate the member advice and opinions posted each and every day. The amount of money I have donated to this site in no way matches the money/time I have saved by following the advice and reading about the experiences of other board members. Though, I do feel that board members should be reminded from time to time about their ability to choose to donate or not. When I first joined this site I was unaware of the ability or importance of donating. It was only after reading a posting by a board member concerning the importance of donating that I decided to donate. My decision to donate was based upon my perceived value of this site, not on any pressure placed upon me by any board members. Plus, I do find the raffles fun.
This is a GREAT SITE! I congratulate the owner, the admins, those that help to maintain the site, and most importantly, the members, who are the true heart and soul of this place.
I am honored to be a member.
