Guys I remember back in 2000 when we put the new board up and I wondered if anyone would ever use this site... In the first months there was just a handfull of folks that came across the site and signed up. I distinctly remember one of our members narcissus and I posting back and forth, it would sometimes be days before we would get a post on the site... I would ask him "you think anyone will come and post" a few hours or days later he would respond " they will come just give it time" a few days later, "are you sure" he reply " patience"
When we had 12 members signed in at the same time I remember grabbing my wife and having her come and look.... Now its nothing to have 200 - 300 on the site at a time....
Here we are almost 8 years later and we had 381 new registrations in Oct, I just can't believe it..... You cant even post up a new message without having 10 other messages posted before you get your response up.... This place was made for all of us to share, it makes me feel good to see you all using the site and making new friends and sharing stories.....
We want this place to grow and I also want you all to know that we are definately experiencing some growing pains, I try not to change too many things too quickly because sometimes rocking the boat is bad and I dont want to introduce something into the community that spoils what we have....
I know we have been having some server issues and we are still working the kinks out of the new board so please be patient, we have a lot of great things in store for you all.....
Keep telling folks about us and let me know what we can do to make this place better than ever...
Congratulations you guys, I think we can call this place a success.....
I need to make sure that you know there is no way that I could keep this place running by myself, the admins and mods are working behind the scenes every day and night in an effort to make things good for all of you. The support group does not get a dime in pay, they do it because they like helping others, (except for Vabusa and she does it for the power....)
The support staff is fantastic, they are my sounding board and they keep me on point and help me focus on what the members ( you all ) need and want.... they not only help with the technical stuff but they represent each one of you and they help me to make the decisions that effect everything from what is allowed to features that we add....
The advertisers that we have on the site are top notch, I get probably 5 request a week from companies that want to advertise here. We do not just let anyone put a banner up for money, the companies with banners are ones that we have spoken to and felt that they would bring huge savings to the members and value to the site overall.... Please make sure that you thank them.....
It's the members, you all that keep this place busy, your job is not always easy.. Making time to welcome a new member, answering questions that have been asked a thousand times or spending a couple extra bucks with a sponsor of this site just because you know they help pay the bills.
