Inexpensive leather gear for riding

:bump:

Any new info??? I need a suit so I can legally play with the new busa :please: and at 6'8 all of the off-the-shelf suits aren't exactly made for me. I checked out the trackskinz.com website - seems good, but how much for a custom made one anyone know?

I've told someone about this also, would love to see some pictures of one of these suits...

The manufacturer in Pakistan makes to measure so 6' 8" should be no problem. He makes one and two-pice suits and I have just bought my 2nd and one for my wife. So far, I am satisfied with the quality and durability. I hope I never have to find out about crashworthiness !!

According to the site, 20 bucks to ship in the US, leather is 1.3 mm. Is that good?

Trackskinz@gmail.com The owner's name is Wayne. If you're interested, you should really email him. The site is a p.i.t.a. to navigate since it's so slow, and it doesn't have anything new that he's made. There's a ton of options available, and I asked for custom color and such and it didn't cost much extra.

That thickness is not too bad, but I think quality of leather needs to be considered. From what i've been told what your looking for is "top grain" leather. My komodo suit has been down twice and is holding up pretty well.

JUST DID A SEARCH ON SOME NAME BRAND SUITS AND ALL SAY THEY USE 1.2-1.4MM LEATHER, SO I THINK THIS ONE IS GOOD, EVEN BETTER AT THE 270.00 PRICE:laugh:

I came across this manufacturer of 1-piece and 2-piece armored leather racing gear a while ago on ebay and purchased a BMW racing suit - it was well mdae and durable and cost me $269 complete. I have just ordered a 2-piece Suzuki GSX-R suit and the manufacturer, who is based in Pakistan, is puting 'Hayabusa' down both sleeves - again for $269 complete. If anyone is interested, contact Saba at raaidwears@googlemail.com and ask him to send you photos. You can basically design your own!!
Wow! Good to know that my leather jackets are so popular. Thank you and looking forward to more orders.

interesting, I've heard that alot of the leather suits are made over there. I would want to know exactly what he's making the suits out of (how thick of leather, type of stitching, ect).

Can you post up pictures of your BMW suit?

The leather is thick, good quality and the BMW dealer was impressed. I have no complaints about the gear. I got some boots which would not do up properly so he sent me new ones without any fuss and I did not have to return the other ones. When my Hayabusa suit arrives, I will post a photo of bike + leathers
Thank you, happy to hear that

yea i'd love to see some pics too. I am looking at getting a new pair of leather pants and cant find anything to far from $200.00, just for pants. If you post pics of the 2 piece leathers, for 70 dollars more, I would rather get pants and jacket for $270.00. How long does it take from order till you recieve them and I may have missed it, but how much is shipping??

Just so you are aware, this thread is almost 11 yrs old....the info may be valid but you might wait a long time for a reply...
