Wow, some misconceptions about the 1098.
I'll keep my '06 'Busa for two up riding (it does that extremely well), but my 1098 is absolutely amazing. I did get the full Termignoni exhaust added on but otherwise it is stock (except for the CF front fender). The bike is simply amazing. 600 handling with open class power along with cruiser torque. With equal riders aboard, *anyone* (except a beginner) will go faster on the 1098.
I'm not slow in the corners on my Hayabusa but I cannot get over how much faster the 1098 is than anything else (even the GSXR1000's I ride with).
Three things about the 1098 stand out as "sucking". The mirrors are close to useless as is the pancake they call a seat. My leathers double the amount of padding I have compared to when I ride in jeans (rare). That and the fuel mileage. The 1098 goes about 100 miles before the reserve light comes on.
For the $19k I have invested, it is by far the best value of a motorcycle I've ever bought.
