Installed 16t

so down 1 or up two do you need to lenth the chain if 2 up in rear
?? best deals

I know going down 1 in the front moved my rear axle back about 1/2" or so. I only have 1/4" of arm left behind the adjustment spacer.

edit: measured...1/4" of adjustment left

Oh great Rod now your going to be trailering you bike everywhere because of the mileage loss. It's already hard enough to get you to commit to a ride.

And on a side note the next time we go to Thunder Valley your probly going to loop it.

IF i get off the line as quick as I was popping the clutch...I will loop.

I think I was having clutch problems then and they got worse until I fixed them last week.

I put a 42 on the rear, much more torque and quicker off the line!! I did not add any links to my chain, it does not seem to tight????

Yep that was my biggest complaint about the 16 tooth front on my gen1....I lost too much of my chain adjustment range :( I would've ran out of adjustment before my chain was done I think. But I fixed it by going up 2 in back as well  At my elevation the 16 front alone wasn't enough for me anyways

so you did both how bad was the speedo of?

According to the speedohealer calculator I need to set my speedohealer for -14.3%. I've only rode it with the 16 front on and no speedohealer..and I don't remember the difference. But bone stock it was off 7% by GPS. I'm correcting the speedo as I'm putting the 42 on this time. Its fairly radical lower gearing tho, your speedo is going to be off by a ton. According to the gearing charts I'll be able to go 180 at the actual redline (about 11.4k indicated). With gearing this much lower than stock a speedohealer really is a must imo......otherwise you'll be racking up way way more mileage on the odo than your actually putting on the bike, terrible for resale value, and your speedometer will pretty much be useless. With a speedohealer on my busa the speedometer is actually very accurate, even at higher speeds....way better than my 14 with a speedohealer ;)
