Interesting tire comparison!

Just bought a set of Q2s but I have not mounted them yet. After reading the comparison, it sounds like I made the right choice. Thanks for the article. :beerchug:
The only question I have about the Q2s is , why is the tread pattern reversed for the front tire?

Been running Q2's since start of this year - great tire still debating personally whether I like them or the P2CT better tough choice both great tires.

A lot of the new tire patterns are reversed now, supposed to be better for water dispersion

Havnt tried the Pures but had a highside at 190kph on the Power Ones so reluctant to try any new Michs atm

One of the reasons I actually decided to try a Dunlop after many years of boycotting them (prev exp with my race ZX10 scared me off Dunlops for a long time!) was that they actually did a test over here in OZ that included a Hayabusa - first time I had seen that and got good reports - dont know why most manufactures ignore anything over 1000cc?!?!?

A little predictable when its posted on a site called www.dunlopmotorcycle.com
Im sure any other manufacturer could have done something similar.

I quite like my Dunlop Qualifiers, but several B-King owners originaly turned their
backs on them as the factory fitted "Qualifiers" are somewhat lacking compared
to the aftermarket versions. To folk who think they were all the same ( I did )
the tyre manufactures do themselves no favours.

Q2s rock! I did 5 trackdays on my Q2 rear and it's still running strong on the back of the busa now. I would have like to have scene a BT-003 in the comparison, the BT-016 is a great tire but it's not Bridgestone's latest offering.

I find it interesting that the two in last place (other than oem) raised the bike the least and were lighter, and would assume they have a less steep angle than the other tires. The two winners felt better in cornering, probably in partial due to this assumed steeper angle?

New tires are definitely worth trying, but the wrong choice can be costly...hopefully just out of the pocket for the initial expense.

Good thread tuff, it gives good insight to those of us who have found what we think is a good set and stick to them until something tells us not too~!~

Why wouldn't Dunlop bragg about a comparo like that? Are you suggestion that the motojournalists and racer (Schoenewald) were paid by Dunlop to tout the Q2? I think the folks that put this together did a pretty good job of 1)creating a level playing field 2)openminded disclosure

Thank you for sharing this Steven, I will definately run with Dunlops next time around. Doyle

What is their latest hypersport tire if it is not the Bt-016?

I've been running Pirelli Rosso tires and They have stood up really well. I have even had them a the drag strip a couple times and they are still going. They are not cheap but they have good grip and have been wearing suprisingly well:thumbsup:

I love my Q2s on my track bike and my busa, I think Twotonevert really likes his also.
