I wanted to install some 3 in speakers on my busa with a mini amp....when I got an idea. I have some harman kardan computer speakers that are clear and very loud. The speakers are about 2 1/2 inches. SO I took out the speakers and built in x-overs. My question is if I run this off my battery using a cigarette lighter and a mini inverter to plug in the speakers --WILL this draw too much off my battery. I figured I would ask before I mess something up. And I am sure lots of people wouldn't put speakers on a busa but I wanted to try the cheaper way before I dumped 300 on a similar kit for bikes

some people have put impressive sounds/ external speakers system here I will try and find the threads for you

I believe he is a member here, not a sponsor nor do I know anyone that has dealt with him. A few people have done there own installs still searching

A little off topic those people with those really long stretched Busa's need an idea of what to do with all that wasted space between the rear tire and the shock:whistle:

If they are PC speakers then they have a 110V house current power supply right? Look on there for the voltage and amperage output to the speakers. That will tell what your trying to duplicate. Usually they are very low like 9V and <1A DC.

I would personally go with marine quality speakers if you actually ride your bike.... Those computer speakers get wet and all your work has been wasted. Just my $.02

Hey thanks for all the input......I am not worried about them getting wet because I have an endless supply of the speakers and the main reason I want to try this setup is because so far I have $0 invested in the project. I am afraid if I buy a $300 plus system and don't like it, I will be out of the money.....so this would be a cheap trial and error sort of thing
