Is it possible?

I've seen a bone stock 01" Busa:
Bike came out of 200+ Performace LaPLace,LA

Power Commander
Shinko Stealth rear
lowered
stretched 6"
16/42 gearing
Hindle full exhaust
ceramic bearings
air shifter
clutch mod(weld-up)stiff springs
re-valved rear shock
no mirrors
dyno-tuned by Mike Cats in Kenner,La
with a 140lb rider...

9.09 @over 150mph fighting a wheelie going down the track. They couldnt get a race after that. Everyone thought they were spraying. This was back in 2002-2003.

not one bolt ever came off that engine.(except for the sprocket cover)

It can be done... but it will take a very skilled rider.

By my definition a "stock" motor is
1 none of the nuts and bolts have been removed from the engine
2 The original "stock" internal engine parts are still in it.
Now some might say what about intake, carb or FI system or headers.
Those can all be added to a stock motor and there for the engine would still be classified as "stock". btw changing valve springs or rocker arms are allowed as long as they are "stock" replacement parts.:whistle::whistle:

The same shop had a 2002 Busa

2 intake cams(stock cams)
hindle exhaust
Power Commander
Mike Cats dyno-tune
6" stretch
Shink 003 Rear
Airshifter
boxmod
clutch mod
ceramic bearings

same 140lb rider

8.70 qtr mile(consistant)

Prolly easier to find GenII and spray it to get in the 8's as long as ya got a very light and experienced rider.

The gen1 Busa will handle alot more NOS than the gen2:poke:

A gen1 with a 40shot will get in the 8.'s easy

But if that gen2 is set up right... its hell to pay. I've seen a bone stock gen2 with a MPS spider spraybar go 8.78 with GT tongley riding it. I know its stock because thebike belongs to a good friend of mine. GT was just testing it out.
