do you have a chain riveting tool? The masterlink goes on the chain, and ou put the "plate" on the link and press it together. I used the spacers that come with the EK ZZZ chain, but took em out to finish pressing it cause it was not pushing flush with the other links...
Once the link is in place and plate is pretty much flush, you have to use the rivet part of the riveting tool to put the "dimple" (rivet) in the pins. My pins never tried to back out.
