Ok buying new jackets, some of our injuries could have been prevented with better fitting gear.

When trying on a new jacket (unlined perf leather) with just a tshirt on. Snug but so snug I could not fit a sweatshirt under it? 44 fits that way go up to 46 or hope for a decent break in on the 44 and hope i never gain 5 lbs...

You live in Mass. Is this jacket gonna be only one you have ?
Will it and just a T shirt keep you warm on cold days ?
How loose is a 46 on you ?
Lastly why not order one custom made for you ?

Glad your turning the corner and already back to buying gear and another bike .

Mate I feel for you. I have a 1 piece Spidi suit which are a 44 and I havnt worn them in six years or so. Now Im a 48 chest and my 6 pack is more of a small barrel. The Spidi zip is 6 inches apart and whilst I did manage to do it up it felt like some sordid sex game...!!

Ive been trying on leathers for the last couple of weeks and have found it hard. I was quite impressed with the Rev-it range as you can mix and match with them and they do different lengths of trouser too. Having said that I still didnt buy any and there is more chance of meeting aliens than me losing weight so I'll have to keep looking..!

Beast.

I have a textile Joe rocket with liner and an ICON leather with liner. The ICON is warm but not glove friendly

Found a 2011 ICON accelerant with the GSXR badges, full leather with liner in a 44, tight as the Joe with the liner in but much better without it.

Dave, you don't want an unlined jacket. You do not want leather next to your skin, you'll get carpet burns and it won't be on your knees

Buy yourself a suit of underarmor. It's very slippery and lets your leathers move around during a crash without burning the skin. I've seen guys burned pretty severly under their leathers. Also, the underarmor keeps the leathers and liner from sticking to you during hot weather. Good investment my friend! :beerchug:

Oops, I see you are referring to the insert/liner.

You want your leathers to fit as snug as possible without being uncomfortable!

Yes cold liner, both Have mesh liners.

Vanson is over $800+ to custom fit a jacket. A bit rich for me. Awesome stuff just too much.

I wear a small joe rocket jacket, im 6'3, 150lbs.

I kept my jacket from my previous bike but found I couldnt wear it, i was over 215 and the thing was huge on me.

Oh well

I wear 40R for suit jacket (5'10", 185, 32-33 waist). For leather jackets (Icon, Alpinestars, Teknic, Joe Rocket), 42REG works best: snug fit, no flapping at speed. For textile jackets, I go one size smaller.

Bought the 2011 ICON Accelerant GSXR in a L-42/44 tight with the liner, perfect without it. list price is $430 got it for $299 likely cheaper online bought wanted it "now" lol.

If its leather and it fits perfect brand new, it wont fit later. the leather will relax a bit, ask me how I know:whistle:

Well with the liner in I cannot breathe so a bit of break it is ok. And it got it $80 cheaper than the online price, first time thats happened :cheerleader:

Mine fits just a little loose so I can wear a sweatshirt under it if needed, It is very comfortable with or without the sweatshirt, Not sure how your old one fit but it sounds like it did a pretty good job going down at almost 100mph and your not torn to shreds.

I would go with a LITTLE loose for comfort, You dont want to not like the jacket because its to snug.

What I had was and XL ICON ARC "Seventh Seal" limited and numbered, honestly was a bit too big but was comfy. Its almost salvageable, hers is totally destroyed.
