I've been putting alot of miles on my bike lately about 8000
in 8 months. At this rate I'll have 20-30 thousand in the next
year or so. Just wondering if anyone who takes care of pm and is not just beatting theres is getting any life out of theres??? mine is a 05 mostly stock except tires "208's"

Dude, you stole my avatar! What's up with this? You are the second guy that's swiped my avatar lately. The last guy was in Ireland I think. He was kind enough to appologize and find his own!

Nope, I blew mine at 73k miles, (check that oil!) No problems up to 73k miles, it used a little OIL though. (check that oil!) I'm about to click over 79k soon, but that's with the newly rebuilt engine, (with oil in it)

nobody has 100k on stock motor?
I have a friend that regularly puts close to a 100k on his rides.....zuks, kawis, hondas, he's had good luck with all of them........and he rides them hard. Buuut......he uses them....he doesn't abuse them. And he maintains them religously. Also, the bigger the motor the longer it will last, bigger motors have to turn less rpm's and work less at the same speed than smaller higher revving motors...more revs, more wear

I am afraid I would definitely have to disagree with you on that..

There is one or two busa. Members on this site. That have that type of mileage on stock motors.

I personally have put over 270 thousand miles on a honda cb500..

Okay, so it's not a busa.... but still it's a stock bike..

Any motor will last as long............. as you look after it..... regular oil changes, and just keep it well serviced.

No reason why your motor should not outlive you. If its looked after.

There is a guy I work with that has over 35k on his...No troubles at all. So as said above with regular maint it should last as long as you want it to.

thanks alot guys I sure enjoy riding mine . Its a fun commute in the mornings ... little cold this one though !!!!
and suprisingly not as bad of a ride in the rain even with the new tires

I enjoyed reading this thread..

Before I bought mine I was reading this and other sites big time and actually got to talk to a Busa owner one day.

He explained all that I wanted to know about the bike and he had some good mod advice and seemed coherent on the subject in general.

BUT he did tell me that the motors will only be good for about 20 or 30 thousand miles... Saying that they are high performance, high compression and not like the usual inline fours and twins found on other bikes that tend to last forever.

I took his word as the truth and have since been watching the clock wind up....
Hope you guys are right as I am very nice to mine and I dont want it to die that soon

I've got 16.5k on my '05 and it's 10 months old. I'm looking forward to rolling 100k on it without a rebuild.
