Timmyduck,
Roads in SG are ok, but it is not good to speed here as cops are strict. If you ride an open class bike ( 600cc and above) they'll be esier on ya as long as you don't go too far and don't have any speeding tickets
.....
The best way to go, is to ride to Malaysia ( about 30min from any part of island to the border), you pay like 50cents to get across you basically are set.... as although speed limit is 110km but you can go as fast as you can ( almost all bikes do ). If you get caught Highway Police there is more undestanding and things can be aranged.... but you didn't hear anything here and I'm not trying to say anything bad, it's just my personal opinion if you will...
Many guys from here like to go to Kuala Lumpur ( capitol of MY) about 4hrs - depends on speed , or Thailand about 10hrs . Of course some ppl get there faster than others
( note: speed limit in SG 80-90km on highway 45-55km on build up areas....
Good point is that since it is tropics, no winter! and I can ride all year round... same like those lucky guys in south of States...
Of course heat is an issue sometimes ,, but after while you get used to it...No body said it is easy, I guess you have to pay a price for the freedom that riding bike gives...
Another point is ....everyone here splits traffic so it gets fun...
