I was wondering about taking the starter clutch off. I just wanted to make sure before I do it and mess up something. Can you guys help me with some tips on getting it off without doing any further damage?:please:

Thanks in advance.

since the gear teeth are already sheered off it tough to keep the crank from spinning while you're trying to get the bolt out. If you've got a friend you could take the stator cover off on the other side of the crank and have them hold the stator while you take the bolt of the stater clutch hub. I can't think of to many other ways.

So What if i get a pair of pliers and grip the clutch piece. Will that do? I thought about the bolt on the stator side, but wanted to make sure. Don't want this to turn into a costly repair if i can do it on my own. I am pretty handy when it comes to fixing things myself

if you can get pliers to hold the starter clutch that would work. On the stator flywheel there are holes. You might be able to get a large screwdriver through one of the holes and then slip it into the case where the oil drains back to the sump. You're just trying to wedge something to keep the crank from moving while you remove the bolt on the starter clutch.
