Laminar Lip

Having trouble uploading the pictures... I'll add them to my website and link to it...

Funny they call it laminar and that is exactly the part of the Aero that that thing will A$$ up.

Diverting the air up instead of back will destroy the laminar (Air flowing back together behind the bike) air flow.

Different strokes...

I've had it up to 150 and it is at least as stable as without it.

Finally got it posted to my website:
My Busa and other stuff is here

There is a composite picture of the Lip, my Hump/Handrail Mod, Hump Storage Mod, Strobes Mod, and my fun in Iraq & Romania last year.

When I saw the picture of this thing I called up Michael Glass (they guy who went cross country and back, 2-up -- in <100hrs -- on his '02 SE) and asked him about it. He had tried it but had moved on to a larger touring screen that he had gotten from Europe.

To make a long story short, I installed this thing today in the office parking lot and, er, "tried it out" on the way home (was a little late and took the long way, you see). It works pretty well, but it was kind of an unusual install on top of my ZG double-bubble (oddly enough the same screen as in their marketing photos).

Definitely a plus if you do more highway or foul weather riding, and because there's an extra air channel between the "lip" and the windshield the pressure differential is not so great that the buffeting increases at higher speeds. In fact, the airflow feels cleaned up a little from before, probably because I don't get it full in the face now.

Recommended, but be careful if you have an aftermarket screen that's much different than the stock shape. And it does look a little weird, but it looks much better at over 100mph ;) .
