So I had to get a new battery today. Called around looking for the best prices and found only one dealership closely located to me that had this model in stock. They give me a price, so far so good.
Then I ask if this battery needs to be filled with acid or if already done, just to see what they would say.
Get told, " The battery comes with acid that you have to put in yourself, let drain for 1 hour, then put battery on trickle charger for 2 hours before use" So naturally I ask them if they could do this before I come pick the battery up later in the afternoon once I can scam outta work to get the busa nice, happy, and most importantly, running.
Farking salesman says quite sincerely " Labor is $65 per hour, but sure we can do that"
Are you kidding me! $195 on top of battery cost to have it filled! This is just amazing. Right about here is where I ask his name and he hangs up on me.
From there I continue to work throughout the day until I can get out of there and go pick up battery. Once I get in the store I had to wait about 10 minutes for anyone to take a moment from the BS session they were obviously engrossed in and notice that they have a customer who is not blandly looking at the bikes but instead looking straight at them.
After being in the Marine Corps for 9 years, especially being an NCO in a training command, it is extremely easy for me to turn the facade of pissed off off and on like a light switch. So I wait at the counter until sparky comes to ask if I need anything. Tell him that I had called earlier about a battery for a hayabusa and they have a couple in stock. He quietly goes to get the battery and all his cronies, friends, whatever are over in their secret squirrel club huddle snickering. Not worth my time at this point, just want my battery and to leave.
He comes back with the battery and screws the price up 3 different times in the computer, always overcharging me by atleast $10. Finally has a lucid thought and does it correctly. After finishing the transaction I asked if I had called ahead and asked would they of charged the battery for me? Sh**stick replies "yep, free of charge!"

So now I have this nice wonderful new battery about 10 minutes away from going on the charger before I can ride my busa for the first time in what feels like years.

Damn I love being able to work on my own bikes and usually getting parts from internet unless I get impatient and glorious people like this remind me that patience truly is a great virtue.

Sounds like PMS and that is why I won't go into that stupid place. Problem with them is that they have about 9,000 new military guys come in there looking for stuuf and asking to be ripped off. So, with that steady stream of star-eyed stunnahs, they don't have to have any sort of customer service, 'cause they don't have to work for thier business...

I go to three places to get parts brother. John, Baracuda in Fort Walton or the internet - depending on what kind of hurry I am in...

I don't even look at PMS as I am driving/riding by anymore!

Know what you mean MCM, but after the issues from yesterday I just couldn't wait anylonger. Went to JK's and had this problem. Even if John would of been able to give me a better price the gas the firebird would of drank on the way there would of more than made up the difference. That and I had to get to DMV as well so was a bit pressed for time.

As for PMS, I send my wife in there to get my Honda ProClean spray. $5 and less than 2 minutes and out. Don't know of anywhere else close that sells it so stuck with them for that part

I had an issue with stick on wheel weights on new set of Pilot Powers. Went back with wheels today and talked to service manager. He took care of it for me immediately, himself. Cost me nothing. But I did throw him a ten spot so he remembers me.

The only guy I let touch my busa is John Cohorn over in Milton, about 45 minute to hour drive. I can honestly say that if he ever did make a mistake, he would more than make it up out of his own pocket. However he is not a dealer, just one of if not the best tuner in the area. I know for a fact that had I called him instead of going the fast route he would of had the battery charged and waiting for me, and be asking when I'm gonna get a custom map. There are some good ones out there, just didn't get to see one today

Man - I can't believe that JK's treated you that way! I didn't think you would go that far away..... Man.. still

really isn't that far from me, I do live in Corry Housing so it is by far closer than John's. The drive would of been worth it though I can tell ya that much. Can't remember the last time I wanted to tickle the inside of someone's skull that much

Talk about frustrating... Well at least you guys can get what you need in the same day around your area. Seems like I have to have shet caravaned into this country on camels or someshet just to get shet running.
Getting a battery is fuggin close to impossible. The only phuggers that carry'em can never answer if they expect one on the next truck in from Austria. Forget about asking if they can order one. Everyone there is clueless and it looks to me like they operate on the "do not share information beneficial to the customers" principal of non-service.
