So far all I've done is get all the factory decals off of the spare parts I have in hand and removed the decal residue. Workin' on gettin' all of it squeaky clean before I start sanding. Don't want to work any contaminants into the surfaces during sanding. Cleanliness is a HUGE factor in how well the new job adheres to the old...
Next step will be a good wash with Dawn dish soap, a good wash mit, and a nice stiff bristle paint brush to get into the tiny corners and crevices... Then a good scrub down with detailer's clay to remove any bonded on contaminants. Then it's off to the races with the sand paper and scuff pads. No pics of the decal removal. Pretty boring stuff... Pics will start with the washing and cleaning. Stay tuned for a new thread that will cover the process step by step... until color starts goin' on. Then it's zipped lips until it's done.
