Ive not replaced any water pumps on a busa,,but I do know that most car water pumps that I have replaced on auto's,,the pumps have a hole on the under side thati is called a weep hole....thats what it looks like,,,when the pump goes bad,,water will leak out of that hole indicateing that the pump is bad,,,although the weep hole is leaking,,it still is pumping water but is going bad,,,out side [ external fuel pumps on cars have weep hole too,,they either leak gas onto the ground or mix it with the oil,,,,,,,a water pump can go bad in a few ways,,,One ,,the weep hole leaks water, two the outer bearing will go bad and squeal,,or wobble,[ if left unattended will take out the radiator and shroud when it comes unglued ], I do not know what that hole is,,,Ive not had one apart,,,but you can bet,,its there for a reason, and probually is a weep hole,,,,or lube

thats what i was thinking it was like a pressure relief of some sort, but i was thinking about plugging it temporarily to see how it acts, before i started the rebuild i think it was like this cause it was really nasty with grime and dirt but i might have pulled the plugs or what ever it is out when i wiped it clean and cleaned it up....since it stays on the outside i was thinking as long as the pumps keep working and that somehow it doesnt get too much pressure it should be good if i was to plug it

im working on the same exact problem now ! let me know if u ever fixed yours or u had to replace the whole pump on ur busa ?

yea i fixed it u need to replace ur water pump, it basically throws the water outside instead of letting it get into the engine

Old thread...and that's the weep hole. When it starts to leak from there...or you see a lot of crusty build up, you need to rebuild or replace it with a new water pump.
