Sorry, had to go scare off our resident racoon...likes to come up on the back deck and eat the dog food.
The suspense is killin' ya. isn't it?
Ok. The answer is ..Athena, Oregon. Population.....uh.....'bout 300 I'd guess. They have "Hodaka Days" every year. Word has it there is about 100+ smokin Hodakas runnin down the street on that day.
No kiddin'. Freakin Athena, Oregon. The main assembly building is still there. Sorry I didn't take a photo of that too..
But those of you traveling with us in July will have the privelige of seeing this thriving metropolis.
Boy, aren't you exited? Ya should be!
Seriously, I was amazed that all the Hodaka's produced were assembled by farm kids in this tiny town. Kinda cool I thought..
I used to have a "Combat Wombat" when I was a kid...it was a pretty fun bike...until I got my 1977 YZ125
What a difference monoshock made! If I remember right, the bikes were contract built (100% assembled) in Japan for a company called "Pabaco"? somewhere in Oregon. Mine was previously owned by some semi-professional racer and had a lot of factory hop-up engine parts such as o/s piston, hi-comp head, and pipe...and those old god-awful Preston Petty plastic fenders!

+1 It was a good CHEAP bike. I think it was $395.00 brand new. Now I have an 05 LE. Hmmmmm......
