Legality of Exhaust Mods

I live in CA ( San Francisco Bay Area). In the last few years I’ve had a BMW S1000rr with a full Akra exhaust and now I have a 2022 Hayabusa with a full M 4 exhaust. It’s so loud I have to wear ear plugs or I get a headache.
Never have I ever been pulled over for modified exhaust.
Out here in CA 80 MPH is the new limit before you worry about a ticket.
Weaving in and out of lanes? No problem.
The cops out here were castrated years ago and only focus on violent crime.
Add the exhaust
I live in the midwest (Michigan), so we don't have all the emissions checks here (yet). Out there in CA, doesn't every vehicle have to go through an emissions check before it can be registered? If so, how do you get past it with a aftermarket exhaust and no cats?

From what I could tell only Roaring Toyz and Akashi make swingarm extensions.
I went with Roaring Toyz because they are made in the US. I called the owner who assured me there would be no fitment issues however the rear brake caliper didn’t go in without some grinding .
I had the work done at my local Suzuki dealer because they had to put in an extended rear brake line and an extended speed sensor cable.
Do you mind sharing what that set you back for the work at the Suzuki dealer? I've got a full extended swingarm that needs to go on mine. I was going to do it myself, but now I'm having second thoughts after going through all this hassle I've been going through trying to get these superstock camshafts in. Nothing seems easy when working on this bike.

Yep, modding is like a disease that you can’t shake once it takes hold.
You ain't kidding. Bought my '24 Busa last summer new, and had it delivered to my house via trailer. Before I even had it on the street, I had it tore down in the barn, putting all my mods on it. Wife couldn't believe what I was doing to a new bike. She was like, "It's brand new!!!!".

No smog check is required in CA for motorcycles which is nice. I suppose because it's technically illegal to modify a motorcycle exhaust and every motorcycle sold in CA has to be 50 state emissions compliant so there's no need.
Cars that are 8 years old or newer do not require a smog check either. After that, it's every other year.

I sent you a DM with the details. It cost me but it was worth it due to the work involved in getting it done correctly.
