Let’s talk tank bags

The tank ring is available now on the suzuki accessories page, and I have one on the way.
Ring Mount (2022)

It works with the Suzuki branded SW Motech Evo City bag, which I like and have ordered, but it's back-ordered, and no longer available on the Suzuki site. You MIGHT be able to have your dealer order one on backorder, don't know.

SW Motech DOES HAVE a US based website, and you should really use it. I messed around for way too long on the German site without any suggestion that I switch to the better option. But it's WAY better. This ring and setup works with the EVO line, but I think they're phasing it out for a newer ring design and line which doesn't have a Gen 3 busa base yet, but I could be out of date. But here's the same bag from SW Motech, for the same price. (I also liked their tank protectors, and got a set though they might be too wide):

These do have a string to unlock them from the tank, but under 'accessories' there's a pin lock system where you drill a small hole in the bottom of the bag, push a pin through, and it keeps the ring locked regardless of the cable. It also has a small combo lock for the zippers. I bought one of those locks as well. This is the US site:

Anti-theft protection for PRO/ EVO tank bag
Tankpad. 79,6 x 113 mm. Black/Grey
I went with the Suzi Tank Ring. It IS the EVO and purchased the SWbag that you posted. (My KTM (1290 SAS) branded bag is also a SW EVO and it fits.)
Yes, SW is moving from EVO to PRO.

Took a month but I got it!

When I called GIVI USA a while back, they checked with the Mothership and indicated that it was still just a concept. (I have some GIVIs on my ZH2 that I wanted to use.)
(I figured they wanted to make sure the demand was there from all the inquiries?)
They are like that. Last October they wrote me they didn't have any plans for the Gen 3 "due to the low request of the market". Luckily they seem to have changed their mind.

I picked up my white bike yesterday, with tank bag. First impressions are that it is good looking, well-designed, and TINY. I actually can't believe there is a smaller tank bag available. For like carrying your wallet? The side pockets are tiny and not deep enough for much more than a wallet. The top mount that clicks on to the tank ring is a box that takes up a good amount of the Interior space. I haven't installed the lock I bought yet. And Europe still has like one place that sells the clear map reader which you can attach to the top (it's a discontinued item). I have one on order but I suspect it will be too big for this bag.

To be fair it does have an expansion zipper which lifts the height another inch or two. I do like that there are little half pockets for all the zipper pulls. That's a nice touch. And ports front and rear for electrical cords. The latch mechanism clicks in and off of the tank vertically. There's no forward or back movement to the latch. The pull release is solid and well-designed. The tank bag is a little further back than I was expecting and your jacket will be leaning against it when you ride. All in all thumbs up, but it holds a lot less than I was expecting and is smaller than the impression you get from the photographs.

I'd like a tank bag that has a clear top for my phone, so I can see it. Like the OGIO bag, but it won't fit. No ring yet for 22. Anyone seen anything that would work?

See above. I had to buy it from Italy and it arrived in a month. With shipping still cheaper than what they sell for here (but not available here).

Too bad they don't offer it anymore. They have a photo on their website but there's no link to purchase. This is quite frustrating, as Suzuki offers their own system, but their bags do not have a clear map reading pocket.

I picked one up from cyclegear that has a clear phone holder on top but if it gets really hot in your area you may want to rethink that option. I can't use mine because my phone overheats and shuts itself off when it's in there.

SW-Motech makes the bags for Suzi, KTM and others. The SW bags DO have the clear map / phone pocket.
Suzi must have spec'd their bags without the pocket?
I'm glad the Suzi bag was out of stock when I bought my bag, since I was using my Dealer for everything within reason.
