License plate lights

Quick question:

I just installed a cool looking sturdy stainless steel tag holder. “See the photoâ€￾ Now I need to install some good lighting, something to illuminate the all the numbers on my tag.

I have a little 3" led strip but it doesn't light all the numbers on my tag because of the curve on the tag holder.  I was looking at some of those bullet or bolt lights, but I’m a little unsure about the coverage???  Has anyone got any pics or ideas for lighting that provides good plate coverage?  Thanks

The lite n boltz are probly your best bet because they shine in a direction but you will need all 4 on a curved plate like that.

yea but if you use the bolts with led's in them then you have to run wires as well... were you going to run those without making it look terrible?

I was wondering the same thing, "about all the wiring that is". I really don't want to have to much visible wiring. I can use a SS cover or something from the caliper forward but was trying to avoid the birds nest around the tag area.

I'm interested in a solution as well. I have the same "issue" although I'm not that concerned, just curious.

Just go to your local audio store and get some 1/4" wire loom to cover the wires. You can get little plastic clamps to hold it.

You're going to have trouble getting any light to light that tag up since it is curved. I wouldn't waste the cash on the lite boltz, they aren't very bright.

I also heard the light bolts weren't very bright (I think they're 1.3w)  I'm not to worried "yet".  I haven't been stopped.  But I just got this bad boy in Febuary and I'm trying to keep it clean.

I'm starting to realize the curved tag holder is going to give me a challenge.  But that's good for me, I like challenges, I'll break out my "How to build just about any damn thing" book and see what I can find!

yes, lets see a pic. also I've seen those tag lights before, but you're the first person I've seen give any type of review on them.

I actually ordered the first LED plate light on that site. Didn't buy it from them, but it's identical. I was going to use it for my plate, but there's 2 options to mount. Drill holes in your plate OR 3M tape (option I made up). I chose the latter. Looks okay, BUT you can see the LEDs. So you're not getting just the glow of them, but from behind the bike you see them if mounted on top. If you mount them on the bottom, them anyone around your bike while it's running will see them. it's tacky IMO so I never hooked them up. If anyone is interested, $25 shipped (basically same price as on that site but I'll cover shipping).

Haven't used a lift on it yet, don't own one. I've been eye balling a pitbull at my local shop. I'm going to get one soon and I'll let you know.

I didn't get the tabs installed on my Trac arm as you can see so I'm curious about that too.

dxj_1 - Saw a sportbike today with same type of tag holder. He had an led plate frame and used a braided hose to cover the wire... looked sweet! Just a suggestion.

It's made by Radiantz, they have a couple of different setups in case you go with a vertical or horizontal tag holder.
