8 Of 8 – Took a little longer than most of have done it here, but it was worth it.
Well, I took a break and then went back down to the garage to look at the finished product which I am very happy with. I did have problems with the last fairing pin (closest to seat) on both sides. It seemed that the material was too thick. I pinched the rear fairing and undertail together and they were touching, but the pin just wasn’t long enough so I threw a small nut and bolt on both sides and the painted the silver, black with some auto touchup paint. Can’t see a thing. I did notice that it’s a nice tight fit all the way around, and don’t figure any water is going to get inside.
I also agree with the rest of the group, the brake lights aren’t very bright. I’ve been reading about Iceman’s led brake lights and turn signals and may go that way in the near future.
I’m really happy with the quality of the undertail and the way it looks, but mostly I’m happy that I did it myself and didn’t take it somewhere to get it installed.
Thanks a bunch for trying to help out when I got stuck.
