As of yesterday, I am a happy Gen 3 owner, after selling the H2SX.
Back in 1999, I was had one of the first delivered black/reds in Australia. I'm pretty sure this was the forum I was a member of back then too, but unsure. Anyway, it's good to be back on the Beast, as well as seeing this forum active.

Welcome GB. 25 years! That's a while. I wish my sport bike history could have gone back that far. I can't let go of any of the bikes I've owned since 2008. Have 08 Black/orange busa and a wrecked 08 Midnight Sapphire blue ZX-14 I just couldn't let go of. Just bought a 2024 ZX-14R and wish I had money to buy more because there's more than few I'd love to own including that beautiful Gen3 Hayabusa.

Other than the probable 2-3 grand difference in price why buy the ZX?

The two or three grand had nothing to do with it for me. It's extremely old news but he 14R makes more hp and tq and that's what I buy hyper bikes for. I don't think it's as quick 0 to 60 mph as the Gen3 busa but I go faster than 60 if I'm going fast. It doesn't matter much. I went faster on my Gen1 ZX-14 but on paper, it's not as fast as a Gen2 Hayabusa. In the corners, there was no advantage with either bike. Hell I almost crashed chasing a Husqvarna dual sport bike on my busa. Totally crushed him on the straights though. You buy what you want to buy for whatever reason you want it. The Gen3 Hayabusa is a very beautiful bike with some cool electronics but I spend for power and if it's less money.....my mind is made up.

but if the Gen3 busa proves to be faster (and I've been waiting four years for definitive proof while the 14R has been out 12 years), I'll have to buy it. Anyone have proof, please tell me because I have intercooled turbo money going to the 14R that could be spent on a Gen3 Hayabusa.

Love my busa and the Gen3 is gorgeous but newsflash.........they made it less fast. at least as far as I know and I followed it a number of years. Then I bought a 14R.

The biggest advantage the Gen 3 has is it's electronic suite, it makes it able to be finessed to the rider's needs, you can turn the nannies up or down as you see fit......it's been said that it's better to have them and not need them than to not have them and then need them...

There are many threads on here regarding putting cruise control on the two previous gens......the gen 3 has solved that equation...

If we look at power, Suzuki gave it less power but placed that power in the mid range where they said most riders spend their time...in this way of thinking it makes sense.....the gen 2 might have an overall higher top speed but by the time it catches the gen 3, it's too late.

.........and there are lots and lots of turbo'd gen 3s on this forum and the internet that attests to it still being a Hayabusa under all that fancy plastic....
