Long time between drinks.

Wow, she's a beauty.....I love the retro color scheme...I'd rice that in a heartbeat.

Is there an aftermarket exhaust in the works?

Thank you Bumblebee! The color is unique, isn't it! It grew on me. No problem with it looking too similar to my two other bikes ...or any other bike I might acquire in the future for that matter. I may paint the green a bright red at some point and keep the blue and white. I may go with all CF bodywork too. The silver on the frame really doesn't work for me. I'm going to try to vinyl wrap that in a nice carbon fiber pattern...or maybe just paint it the typical dark gray ZX-14 frame color.

As for exhaust, I was going to go with a Brock's Ti CT Meg full system. ...but i had a nice windfall recently so I might go straight to an RCC kit with Garret turbo and I am leaning heavily toward the stage two kit with intercooler.

Thanks for cluing me in on how to post threads. I see the orange button now. That's new. LOL goes to show how long it's been since I posted my own thread here.

Change the color?! Bah...blasphemy.

And, you could supercharge it instead of a turbo too.

Yep, that's an awesome throw-back color, it's my favorite, and looks as good on the zx10.
It screams '90's Kawasaki...a great era.
And yeah, needs some carbon fiber mufflers, it'll flick side to side quicker with the weight loss, not just look and sound better.
The color scheme works extraordinarily well on the liter bike and if there's a 600 in this color, that must also look amazing. As you can tell, it's still growing on me even after it grew on me. It's been a very long time since I rode either the busa or the Gen1 ZX-14 but getting on this lumbering fully stock bike, it really feels like it handles just about as well. I'll be able to make a better comparison once I get the busa running again. I was in the middle of doing raising links at the time I crashed my Gen1 ZX-14 and I just dropped everything bike related. Now I'm back into it all the way! If anyone knows how to lighten up a ZX-14, it's me. I'll be doing all the weight loss mods I did to my Gen1. I'm seeing this as more of a straightline bike though. If I go turbo, that's going the opposite direction of making it a corner carver.

I was looking at this before I bought my latest busa, it was already sold though
Some interesting mods....

I have the Ohlins front and rear suspension on my Gen1. The forks were probably damaged in the crash bu the shock's still good. I also had a Hyper-Pro damper similar to that. That one looks more like an Ohlins copy. My Hyper-Pro burst all the oil out when I hit the deer. Now it's seized up. I'm sure it's toast.

Weight loss is the usuals, lithium battery, full exhaust, wheels, rotors, and 520 chain and sprockets conversion.

Is this next?

Well, I'm keeping my eye on it! The TTS supercharger has huge potential for the ZX-14. I haven't researched it thoroughly but what I'm hearing mostly is that turbo is better for peak hp. A supercharger is a better choice for a street bike because it has no lag. I've been told the RCC kit is making boost at 1500 rpm on the ZX-14 though so that's virtually no lag.

OH there's tons of unnecessary parts on a ZX-14. You wouldn't believe all the junk I took off my Gen1. The belly pan fairing and bracket alone weigh a pound and a half. I dropped over 80 lbs off of that bike but I'm sure most of it was parts that needed to be replaced with lighter aftermarket stuff.

You'll need the belly wing if it's a straight line speed bike.

@sixpack577 the aeros advantage of the pan might mean more than the extra weight if you'r shooting for 200 mph. I don't think drag racers consider the belly to be imperative. The whole rest of the bottom of the ZX-14 is open anyway, not like the busa. LOL I'm going to start my own ZX-14R thread so we can let SeabeGB show off his new busa. @SeabeGB , you're invited to come over to my thread and highjack it any time!

I don't know how big you are Myt, but I'm 100kg, 6 foot tall. I've been working out on a home gym for a couple of years now and cycle the roads on a gravel bike too, nothing over the top, I'm 63yo  Thing is the busa seems sort of light to me. I run Metz sportec tires which give me a decent lean angle and I manage to bat around on it no problems, even at slow speeds. I also have the bmr-s1000rr and frankly it seems like a 650. It's faster and handles better but it seems so light and small. It's the upper body gym work that's done it I think, it never used to seem that way.

Yes good idea. It's currently snoozing in Sydney while I am at home four hours away. The next 10 days is going to be rather wet, so unsure when I will see it. It's very stock, black/gold. A good part of me prefers stock. On one Gen 2 I looked at, the previous owner installed LED lights, and I just thought 'no'.
I am contemplating a mini shrine section in the garage. I reonovated the garage recently from a drab tan brick and old concrete floor, to now have Scuderia colours with white walls, red beams and grey floors. I'm also contemplating a Gen 2 to sit next to it. That will make for good pics.
Nothing worse than bringing home a new bike in the rain. New slippery tires and all that. I hope that garage floor isn't too slippery, watch that! Mine was done in some smooth red paint and I have to be as careful as if there is any water around. Same with the driveway leading down, it's got some smooth pebble embedded in it and I noticed the other day it's suss when wet too (when one foot slipped reversing the bike back down) I have good boots, but made no difference. I'm up in SE QLD btw. Down near the border and I regularly do runs up over into NSW.

I can remember getting off my Busa, or one of the many I rode, and right back on to a 1000.
The lift off of the kickstand had me catching the 1k as it was going over the other side, lmao
The effort to move the extra Busa weight around and off of the stand was easy, but the weight difference quickly became apparent when immediatly going to such a lighter bike...I've done that a few times too, lol
I like both, the fat pig holds the road nicely, and the liter-bikes feel bicycle like.

Well no garage incidents yet. The top coat had gritty thing you add to it, but yep I can imagine it still slipping. Just on that, I have been comtemplating a custom carpet for it. Aliexpress have them for about $80, 200cm*80cm. I mocked up a design, but not placed an order yet. Would be interested to hear if others have done sometrhing like that. I'm happy to share the full sized file if someone wants it too, small res attached.

As long as it had a good rubber back. Me, I'd put the money into a Bagster tankcover, not that I'd ever put a bag on top, but they look cool, protect the tank from scratches, act like a tank grip, stop your lid sliding off if you want to put it there when parked, and the hoops on the front are perfect for hanging sunglasses on.

Hi. Go with the stage 2 kit with the intercooler.
