Can anyone point me in the right deriction for what parts I need to lower my Busa?

I know that I need a triple clamp cover, The rod for the rear shock and I also wanna strap the front down.

I've got a pretty good idea of the equipment and the stuff that needs to be done, I was just wondering were was the best place to get it all and if there were any pointers that might help out.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Also, if anyone could give me their experience as far as the way it effects handling, especially at high speed.
I imagine it makes it more difficult to wheelie as well, I guess thats the point huh?
:(

Daveo, are these blocks like a strut. Or do you use your stock shock with it.

ps. most riders use position #2 for the street and #3 for the track. Change over takes about 5 min.(1 person) with a rear stand and a floor jack.

Ok Dave. I got my Blue last month, and it sits too high for me. But I want to keep it as stock as possible. Thanks for the tip

How is the handling affected at various ride heights? I'm not as concerned about pegging and canning because I don't corner like that - I still hava about a quarter inch to go on the edge of my tires. I just want to know if for example going down 3" front and back wrecks the handling. I understand that it is stupid to try to strap it on the street, and I understand that if you go down the same amount front and rear that the head angle stays the same. I think it would be cool if I could still corner at 8/10 (which is my 10/10) and yet not have the bike come up on me when I whack it in first or second. Thanks.

I can't speak to the front end as mine is stock, but I can say that with Brock's links at 3" the bike is much more friendly, especially if you're skinny like me. The center of gravity is incredibly lower.

On the handling part, 3 busas, an F2, and a Suz900 went to Deal's Gap(www.dealsgap.com) 318 turns in 11 miles, and being down 3" killed me, I couldn't stay with the other busas. Had I known we were going I'd have brought it back up, as Brock said it takes 5 min., we didn't have a jack w/ us tho.

With 5 of us we probably coulda done it manually(pick up the bike's *** ) but we had other things on our mind...RIDE!

BDEs are cheaper, schnitzracing.com, I have mine down 3" and like it at all speeds, did several 160 and 1 170 blasts this weekend handles great. Be warned that you need to grind a very healthy chunk outta the sidestand or it will fall over. I had cut .05 out and it still fell on level ground.

Cycle Stuff, the McIntosh links, am I correct in thinking that they are the threaded ones I saw a while ago on dragbike.org, and can they raise the ride height also?? Also, can they be adjusted on the bike, or do you have tgo remove them?

Hey Daddy long stroke,

You said you lower the rear three inches and the front none?
Do you just strap it down when your gonna drag?
I guess I wasn't aware of the front end rake.
I didnt realize you could loose three in the back, none in the front and it would sit level.

front end doesnt need clamp unless you want it for appearance...just strap it down at the track... i have some billet machined "whitey" lowering blocks for the back that have 2 holes in them- 2 1/4, and 3 1/2" inch drop. they are pretty as shiit, and cost $50 from C.P.E. in maryland (301)868-2741. i ride around with them in the 3 1/2" slot and the front end NOT strapped, and bike sits level and looks baaaad....and it will snap up into a wheelie no problem when clutched in second....later..

you can adjust the Mac. while on the bike so after every pass you can lower the bike or raise it. I have also used the BDE bones and I am happy with both of them. It is just easier to go to the track and lower the bike and then raise the bike and ride home.

Lofty email me at khenning@hotmail.com and I'll send ya a pic of blue down 3 in back, see for yourself. It IS level and looks cool, have gotten many compliments from bikers.

Kurt

lofty, yes it sits pretty level even down 3 1/2 in the back, front end normal...looks 100% better. im not a corner bomber, so i wouldnt know how much it hurts you for the twisties, but like i said, before each run i strap the front down, make the pass, come back, turn bars to left and reach down and release strap and set her back down on the stock kickstand (as long as the ground is level!) later-
