maintaining iridium visor.

What's the deal here team?

I sprung for a new lid today (HJC) nothing particularly flash, but it'll do for a while. I did go with a blue iridium visor, but forgot to ask how to clean it up. After hearing some horror stories, I am hesitant to put anything on it until I have your opinions.
I have been using those "Windex" wipes up till now and they have been fantastic. Is it really true that I can no longer use them?
Don't tell me I have to do the warm-soapy water thing. My helmet lives in the garage. Any products out there I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance.

The ammonia that is in the cleaner will in fact ventually break down the optics of the shield that is why you don't use it. Just use good ole water to clean your visor or a really good plastic cleaner(prefferably aircraft plastic windshield cleaner).

And don't leave your helmet on your mirror while warming up your bike. The fall will damage the visor also. Just ask me.

Plexus and a 3-M microfibre cloth... Been using it on my iridium Arai for over a year, visor looks brand new... Even with love bug season. Otherwise, Take you r visor off and wash it with lots of water and liquid dishsoap... best way to get it done...

Oh and quit putting your helmet on the gas tanks folks, Gasoline fumes will break down the EPS foam inside your helmet... Rendering it.. Crap... So be SURE TO Hang you helmet on the rear view, just don't forget a straighten out the bars...

I have a useless $59 irridium visor now that it is scratch to hell when my helmet fell, directly on the shield.

I clean my Busa and helmet with Honda polish spray, including my irridium windscreen and visor. Never had a problem.

I love the looks of Iridium, I have 3 gold chrome and green all have pits from sand and rocks.

I clean my iridium visor with a little squirt of hand soap and some warm water. I like it a lot, but it scratches really easily.

Thanks for the tips guys,

Lobo, I actualy found some of the aircraft stuff, and a microfiber cloth. Did a great job the first time around.
We'll see how it holds up.

Josh.

You guys are sugar coating the good time out of it. These things are terrible. I love the look, but the only last thirty days. I clean with water and micro fiber towel. At 47.00 USD a pop I wants answers. I called hjc today and formally complained. I have it on my hjc starline series Jorge Lorenzo replica. 47.00 dollars for a month and then they are so terrible you can't see out of it? Unacceptable Hjc. I want answers!!!!

Everyone needs to let Hjc know so they get this corrected, and maybe refund me or send me two shields being that I've spent seven hundred bucks on their products this year. Yeah the rpha starline Lorenzo replica and two fifty dollar shields. Wondering if I should have went with old faithful. SHOEI
