So i'm set to go home on R&R in a week, right. And you know how things allways happen at the worse possible time....Allways!
I got to work yesterday and one of the guys on the day shift ( I work nights ) came up and told me "your girlfriend has been in a bad accident she wants you to call her!" Not what anyone wants to hear. So the first thing I think is she is hurt, broken bones, God knows what, this is not going to be much of a vacation for either of us. Well I got a hold of her and thank God she is ok, few scrathes and she busted her lip on the steering wheel ( no seatbelt ) and a little knot on her head along with the " I just hit a curb and ran my man's truck into a ravine" heartache and soreness!
Call me sucker for leaving my 04' Silverado for my girl to drive while I'm out here in Iraq, but I figured it was pointless for her to buy a truck ( which is what she wanted any how) and have mine just sit in the driveway. Plus we decided a few months back that she would just buy the truck from me since she realy likes it, and I plan to get a new Camaro when I'm done out here and come home for good. She just took over the payments three months ago. Unfortunatly, I'm still insuring it, so guess who's rates get to go up.
So all and all it sucks. I'll be home in a week and all I have for transportation is the busa and a 67' Camaro that gets 4 mpg and neither of which are allowed in the rain. But the important thing is she is ok and nobody was hurt! Thanks to the man watching over us all!
