marble mod not working?

I have a 2005 Yoshi TRS full system and a power commander III mapped for it. Of course when i get off the throttle the exhaust is popping and firing. I did the marble mod following this threads pictures,
https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/general-bike-related-topics/95287-marble-mod.html
but the bike still does the same thing as before. Did I somehow manage to do this wrong? I plugged up the same hose as in the picture, righthand side corner of airbox near the throttle linkage.

Any ideas?

What amp are you running?

Does the bike smell rich?

Map is called 2002 yoshimura full duplex. Not sure if my full yoshi TRS is a duplex or not, and the bike is a 2005. It does smell rich.

The you have the wrong map!

The bike really needs to be tuned on a dyno!

You should also make sure that the exhaust is not leaking, especially where the head pipes go into the front of the cylinder head. Were those gaskets replaced when the pipe was installed? And yes, don't use a "generic" map, get a custom dyno map done by a reputable tuner . . .:rulez:

I just bought the bike so I know nothing about it. I will check everything out and see if I can see any leaks or bad vacuum lines and such. Someone was nice enough to give me a tune by a reputable tuner for bike setup exactly like mine, and although the bike runs great...it still pops. I will say that it is not a loud violent backfire, and has gone down in db since the marble mod. Its really a low muffled fart now and always comes in twos around 4K rpm. Should I be expecting it to be completely silent? Or are little muffled pops just always going to be there? Maybe im expecting too much from this mod.

It shouldn't pop at all . . . and FYI, a map from someone else's bike - even set up the same way - is not going to be correct throughout. Start the bike when its cold, and you should hear the exhaust leaks if they are present. Try tightening the head pipe bolts slightly - see if they turn, don't kill them. Be careful with your radiator while you are in there, you might want to use some cardboard or something to keep you from smacking the radiator fins with your ratchet . . .

I'll check it out, if it's anything like a header leak on a car I'd imagine it would be pretty obvious. Happen to know the torque spec on those bolts by chance?

they are in the manaul which is located on here. if ya give me a minute i can look it up!! :)
