All of our So. Cal Marines check in please, saw this story and I'm hoping that it's none of our own. It's very sad regardless, condolences for the victims' families and prayers for the injured are offered.

Very sad...

One of the vehicles sounds like it was a LAV, but they dont have LAV's on Miramar. The other could have been a recovery vehicle or a 7 ton. I have not heard about this yet but it is still very sad. We are losing far to many Marines to non combat actions.

General combat operations ceased 2 years ago. We are urban pacifiers now. It's the result of politicians "managing" conflict.
My condolences to all and my gratitude x 1000 for a debt I can never repay.

Sad to hear, and yes we are losing to many Marines to operational mishaps here in the US.

Very infortunate....

Semper Fi, Brothers...

Stuff like this happens all the time. The reason it sounds like more accidents is due to the spotlight on the military.

Sad news.

I was making a comment on people saying that military deaths are on the rise. What i meant is, as communication gets better, we recieve more info today than in years past. Most incidents that went unreported by the media/or just remained local out of the public's eye, are being broadcast more and more. Think about the murders commited in the US each years. We hear about the one's the media talks about, I'd say they report about 20% of the total,  but think of all the others that happen and never get mentioned. Now imagine the media broadcasting even 5% more of that figure and it would seem like murder has went through the roof, but in reality we are just recieveing a higher percentage of info.

Reporting death is a hit for news stations, and they'll keep feeding it to us more and more to keep us glued to their station.
