Massive Street Crash

This is the reason I will NOT participate in aggressive large group street rides.
Aside from his speed and failure to see the trailer, he also missed the lead rider's brake light and came up on his RIGHT. Big no no for me! That rider is damn lucky.

First off I do not see any brake lights on from the trailer! Another poster on youtube noticed this too. This was posted there too:

" There are at least 20 bikes on this ride. The one when the video starts is NOT the one that crashed. He and I both slowed down when we approached the trailer. The bike that crashed was speeding up from the rear of the pack and said he did not see the trailer."

Either way OUCH!
The trailer doesn't have lights, it's got reflectors at the top of the rear panel. In some areas that's all that's required plus they're in farm country, could be an off road trailer being moved from one area to another.

Regardless of the trailer or it's lights, dude was hauling ass, missed his buddies brakes lights plus the fact that something big and right in front of him was stopping. He got lucky he went right up the middle and didn't take out more of his friends.

If he didn't even see that big truck & trailer, how would that 2" little round light help him to avoid this crash??? What he was probably focusing on was the position of the bikes in the group as he was flying through the middle of the group.

There is only one reason why this happened an that reason is lucky to be alive and lucky he didn't kill one of his fellow riders.

Hey were did the Video go?

Apparently removed due to shocking and disturbing content. Shame because it was a real eye opener and learning opportunity.

"....and the judges will score that lower Bob, as his feet were not together mid air and he didn't stick the landing." "Thanks Dale, and now we take you to the Olympic pool where Tammy Weisenheimer will be competing in....."

Isn't it weird how these crashes play out.. My brother goes down in a corner at about 25-30 mph and dies instantly. This guy flies through the air for 100 ft and he's pretty much fine.

Just makes you realize we all have an expiration date....

I completely agree. I was launched similarly to (but maybe slower than) the guy in this video when I crashed. The bike impacted at 50MPH and launched me, but I walked away. I'll never understand it in this lifetime.

Sorry about your brother.

That's some funny chef type humor there! You need to post more....

The flying part is harmless, it's the abrupt stops that kill you. Landing and sliding long distances is much better than impacts. Sliding without gear....not so good.

How the hell did he not see that big azz truck. At :07 seconds you can see the truck (taillights) stops, why the hell would it just stop in the middle of the road with the azz end all hanging out like that ,then to top it off the trailer didn't look like it had stop lights. too many wrongs here.:banghead:

I don't think I knew this about you and am sorry for it.
To your point yes it is weird as I had a Lincoln Town car completely drive over me and my bike. I jumped up like a shot deer and hobbled to median on I95 but basically was ok. Aside from some grapefruit sized nuts and not being able to walk due to spine swell for a week or two I was ok.
